Want to automatically live till your 100? Only 1 out of 10,000 people live to the age of 100. This gene allows an individual to automatically live to 100, thus disregarding the effects of smoking, alcohol, cancer, etc. This gene is called "Methuselah" Imagine if this gene can be synthesized and distributed, imagine the effects of it. Would people be happier to live longer or would it mess up the balance of things as the world becomes over-populated. I, for one, would be interested in living to the age 100, as a centenarian. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1278861/The-Methuselah-gene-Scientists-secret-living-100--just-right-DNA.html It's almost like magic. =) What are your thoughts on this new discovery??

I personally feel that once you cross 60 you begin to live in the time borrowed from the new generation. You find that you are a misfit. You cannot keep pace with new technology, new fashions, new styles, new way of living. You find that the life is too fast moving. I would love to live until 100. However, will I enjoy the same health? If I have some kind of sickness, will it not prolong my sufferings? It is a good thing that they have discovered a gene, which would prolong their life. However, will it ensure that they remain fit to work until they are 80 or 90? If they are able to do so then of course, it is worth it.

To live long might be exciting. But if a lot of people will live long, I think, mankind would be in bigger danger. After all, if we live longer, we'll need more natural resources. But if there are too much people, our resources won't be enough for everyone. I can just imagine it. It's gonna be chaotic. I think, one of the reasons it was permissible, or God permitted, man to live for a long time in the past, was because there are few people in the past. It's not that good anymore in the present age.
