It isn't a statement, it's a question.
As reported by the totally unbiased (with a bit of sarcasm, well at least not as biased as the Kapamilya bruhaha) GMA News, outgoing President and Congressman-elect, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo isn't interested in the Lower House's top post.
Lakas-Kampi-CMD vice president for recruitment and membership Prospero Pichay Jr. (remember the "itanim sa senado" battlecry) reiterated that the president has no intentions of being the house speaker and eventually prime minister once and if ever the form of government will be changed.
Well, the President also made a similar statement way back in 2003 when she said that she wouldn't run in the 2004 Presidential election and we all know what happened.
Hmm, It does make sense...
Anyway, it's just better to wait and see and yes, combining the words "President" and "Congressman-elect" in one sentence is legal in the Philippines.
I just don't know if it's within the scope of "delicadeza."

I found that really eyebrow-raising. You're right, GMA has never been known for honesty. Deception is her game. Why would she run for Congress and settle being one of the many faces there? Just running for Congress is already disgraceful and just plain bad taste on her part. She does not have delicadeza at all, so why believe that news...

Arroyo is running for house speakership. There are speculations that if charter change happens, the person with the highest position in the congress will become prime minister. I think that Arroyo's intelligence and allies will go through this.

Well I guess this has been the tactic of GMA ever since. She would not tell what is her real intentions and when the time comes she will announce her intent on time already. So I would not be surprised if she would tell the congress to ran for the presidency of the house. It is rather an old trick of hers.

Hello Louie,
All i can say "Don't bet on it" otherwise, she wouldn't making midnight appoints here and there where we believed that she's not allowed based on the constitution.
If that is the case, how can she be true to her word. before she said she didn't want to get involved with DAVIDE but yet a few days she changed her mind, no word of honor i don't believe her anymore.

Should we believe GMA (Gloria) once again? She's a one big liar! I'm sure she still has intention to own a position in the government.
