I won't be hypocrite, that I am good in English, But I am trying to be good. But it's so difficult to participate in a discussion if you are not that good in english. So for those who read my post just forgive me if you find it very hard to read. We filipino do understand english and speak english but most of us are not that fluent.

Hey! I actually think your English is very good!! I have read much much worse! What is annoying is when people write things which make no sense whatsoever, and I don't just mean their english been bad (I am sure I have read English/American posts which just make no sense and we dont have a clue what they are talking about!)
I think Mylot will help people who want to speak better english to learn more, and it seems many are doing fantastically- but it does get annoying when you cannot understand a word of what is been said...that is a little annoying trying to make sense of something nonsensical! :)

Just chill my friend. Don't degrade Filipinos by that kind of tone. Your speaking English well and everyone here would say that they understood what you said very well. I don't think that Filipinos are bad when it comes to speaking the second language which is English.
It has been part of our school curriculum from elementary to College and we are not on the last league for that. In fact, most Filipinos are around the world. We are on top of the worlds nation that can speak nor understand English. So be very proud of who you are, and don't say sorry for something which is not needed to say sorry for, it may sound even sarcastic.

I am chill. And excuse me I don't degrade Filipino. I am just telling the truth about the reality of English language in my country. It will be hypocrite for me if I say Filipino are Fluent in English. Yes I am aware of the curriculum from Primary, Secondary and Tertiary level that English is part of it. And I am also aware that even though it is part of the school curriculum even from kinder 1, on 50% of the 90 Million Filipinos understand English. And only 10% of that 50% can read and write it fluently. I don't invent this number, try searching the net.
Man I love my country and I don't degrade it. I may had said that Filipino ARE NOT THAT FLUENT IN ENGLISH, it doesn't mean I am ashamed of it. I am just merely telling the truth. And it is undeniably true. If you are here in the Philippines, try to look around you. It doesn't mean we are not fluent in English we are a less citizen of this Earth. We should be proud that even though we are not that fluent in English, at least we can understand it. Unlike those English speaking country, they don't understand TAGALOG.

Hey, you're okay. There is no need to be apologetic about your English here. I am also Filipino and I know my limitations as such. But this is a forum for everyone who loves to discuss issues and exchange views with others. I know that there are very good writers here and we are thankful that we have such brilliant members that we can learn from. I am sure that no matter how small, we too have something to share and they can learn from. We come from different cultures and I guess this is the reason why majority of the discussions here are so informative. Happy Mylotting!

Grammars are very important when writing but for me the thought of the sentence are the most important, the sense of the topic not by the excellency in english language. As long as you can express yourself and share to the people here in mylot your ideas and opinions.

I think that you do very well with your writing, and the more that you write and read peoples responses the better you will get.
I can imagine that it must be a lot more difficult for non English speakers to contribute on here, all the more reason to be proud of what you do write!!
Keep up the good work

Hi jamed28! You need not worry too much because your passage does make sense and there is nothing wrong if you make a few mistakes.THsi is a friendly forum and here we just share our thoughts and make friends. We won't be sitting in judgement of you.I used to worry a lot about my typos because my typing is slow and I do tend to make typing errors .A friend from here told me "what is in a typo or two between friends Kala?"--After that I do not worry much about this.

This could be your room for improvement to learn how to converse with other people. We are even required to speak in English even to our fellow Filipinos. In my case there are times that it is really hard for me to express the statement in English but I am doing any other ways so that others will understand my point in a very simple way.

Hi Jamed. It is good to know that you're a Filipino. I am too. It's alright if you're not that good in English, after all it is not our primary language right? It is better to be trying than not trying at all. I'm so glad that you're trying your best. Don't worry, in due time you'll learn how to use the English language better than all the rest here at myLot. :D Keep trying, you're doing GREAT.

dear jamed,
it is our second language yet there are many filipinos who have difficulty speaking it fluently.
a lot are shy because the grammar is usually wrong and afraid of being marked as "trying hard". hey, they should listen to americans talking in broken tagalog. its funny.
just be yourself. and remember, practice makes... it makes it more easier to communicate.
have a nice day.

just go practice Speaking English, in whatever you do... no matter what others keep saying about you, speaking English?
What matters most, is that you are doing waht it takes to learn and be an efficient speaker, writer, etc...
start by doing translations in whatever you're doing from Filipino to English . . .
by the way I am a Proud Filipino too...

So you're a Filipino; same here I'm not so fluent in English but by being a member in this website I'm trying hard to be aware of my grammar. It's kinda hard though because my major in college are subjects in sciences. Don't worry at least we tried and our readers understand especially they are informed of our nationality. Just do what you think is good.

Hello jamed 28! Sounds that you're good enough. I am also a filipino and i feel i need to study the english language as well so i could converse well with our fellow mylotters here. I just think that myLot was a good training ground for us to practice our english vocabulary.Don't worry too much because myLotters was understanding enough to treat people like us in a very nice manner. Let's just learn the language day by day and hopefully we could achieve speaking english fluently in the near future. Good luck!
