Way back in college, my classmate who was a christian told me that whenever they are in another place and there's no chapel of their group/religion, they'd attend Sunday Services/Holy Mass of any Christian group there is in that place, including Catholic church. Last month, I was able attended the Sunday Services of a Christian sect upon the Christening of my former classmate's son. It was my first time. As a Catholic, it was just like I was attending a fellowship or prayer meeting thus I sometimes did the sign of the cross unintentionally. There was even an instance when I discretely did the sign of the cross as I was uncomfortable not doing it. Good that the people there were understanding. Have you attended Sunday services/Holy Mass aside from your religion? How was your first experience in attending their mass?

I am a Catholic and I have attended church services of several other denominations. I did not find myself uncomfortable. Yes, I too do make sign of the cross habitually. I am quite oblivious to what people might think.

Nice one. Well, maybe because it was my first time? And I am used to doing the sign of the cross openly, wherever I am and whatever I do. It was just that moment that I was uncomfortable after doing the sign of the cross discretely. I felt so guilty that time that I said my short prayer of forgiveness right away.

I have. I appreciate the faith of others no matter what "denomination" it comes in. As long as it is God centered and believes in Christ I have no problem going to other types of groups. Actually, I like learning from different groups as each has significant symbolism and meaningful traditions.

I like that openness in you and your being adventuresome. It is fine with me too to attend other group's Holy Mass/Sunday Services. What just holds me might be the fact that other groups would try to "attack" you to the extent of telling you that everything you are doing and believing is all wrong just to convince you to join their group.

I've attended both Protestant and Baptist services. I did notice that in many ways the services were very different from the traditions of the Catholic Mass, but the general feeling of positive worship was always present. I enjoyed it, but still love High Mass.

That was what I felt that time too. But since it was my first time to be attending in sunday service with other denominations, I felt somewhat awkard despite them assuring me that they've understood my doing the sign of the cross. :) I love our High Mass too, so much. :)

I was raised in the Methodist church and did once attend a Catholic service. It was very difficult for me to remember and do all of the signing, kneeling, ect. But just like you no one said anything, they were just pleased that I had chose to join them for service. I don't think God minded either as he was simply glad to see you enjoy in the fellowship and prayer over your friend's son.

And that experience of mine seems like a force that drew me nearer to God. I was also raised as a Catholic too.
