My bf had a LOT of work done on his car this afternoon and we were in the waiting room for about 4.5 hours. Meanwhile, the news on the tv in the waiting room blared and recycled the news over and over again:the story of the Key West tar balls, the girl who was shot accidentally during a raid in Detroit, and this little Mexican girl who nervously asked the first Lady, Michelle Obama on camera if her mom could get help getting the "right paperwork" to be in this country.
WTF???!!! She is addressing the first Lady, and admitting that her mom is illegal while attending our school system, and this child looked healthy, well fed, nice clothes, and must have been about 8 years old. Please someone tell me why this child's mother didn't find the time to get naturalized after sneaking over the border 8 freakin' years ago. Unless of course, she snuk over here with the kid in her womb.
O, I just want to throw up. Mexico makes it a law that US citizens get no help whatsoever should one become indigent. Yet, they also require we make more money than any Mexican citizen in order to reside over there, probably so their corrupt government can fleece us.

ya know Lakota..I just thought of something. It is a crime to aid and abet a fugitive that is crossing the border. Let's say someone gives an illegal Mexican a ride to the border. This person will definitely face legal charges for aiding a fugitive. Why is it any different to aid and abet pregnant mothers?
Unless their water breaks in the waiting room, I think we should ship them to the nearest hospital in Mexico via Greyhound bus. We are encouraging them to have not one, not two, but THREE children???!!! It is irresponsible to let these women breed when they don't have paperwork to find employment.
They illegally apply for aid and other funding that hardworking taxpayers cough up, who themselves are having a hard time saving for retirement, or maybe planning a family of their own. i would like to have a child, but i don't have health insurance. Gee, it sure as hell aint stoppin' the baby makers of the 3rd world from getting ahead of me in line.

Unfortunately this is a common occurrence. It is also unfortunate that these babies born over here of illegal mothers automatically are US citizens. No child born of an illegal mother should be a citizen. These children born of illegals can get food stamps, rent subsities, etc and free education at our expense. We have to pay for their education. Illegals are taking our jobs, destroying our roads with their cars, and forcing us to spend our money to educate their children. We need to send all illegals back to their home country and not give any of them citizenship!

i know how some hospitals treat patients here in RP. the bureaucracy is one problem and i hope, even with the creation of the law that restricts hospital from denying confinement without deposit or not letting patients discharge if they don't have money to pay at the time they get well, law-makers could come out with a better law for the protection and security of the people, in terms of hospitalization and medical aid. it saddens me to know there are also things like that in that part of America. thanks for the information Lakota and for the link whiteheather.

This is crazy. We should be taking care of our own, and the illegals should have to sign up to become citizens before they are seen unless they are here on a vacation.

Obviously this is seen as a huge problem. Exactly what is the problem as you see it? What should be done to fix this, what alternatives are there?

As I see it am getting tiered of them getting teh hard earned money of real Americans.
Look at what they get and if we happen to be out of work for awhile we cant even get food stamps unless we go thru a pile of red tape and they come over here and get free hospitals an al that.
Keep them on their side of the border and put in a law that dont make the baby a citizen here when born of illeagle parents!!!!!
If we went to MExico we would get sent back and real fast wouldnt get the treatment that we give them here.
also we could land in one of there jails down there if we had no money to take care of ourselves and would take for ever to get out of those jails.

I'm mad as hell. I wasn't aware of this great hospital, but they shouldn't have to extenuate college students to crazy demands from 3rd world illegal aliens. SHIP THEM BACK!!!!
