Choose two out of three.

I heard this from a good friend of mine in university, it is basically the choice you would have to make as a student in college or in uni. Remember, you could only choose two out of three and one you would have to sacrifice or minimize in order to achieve the other two, these are the choices:
1) good grades
2) A good social life
3) enough sleep
When my friend told me this, I was surprised at how right he was. It was impossible or utterly hard to have all three of them. You would have to be a genius, great at socializing and needs 4hrs of sleep every day in order to have all three. In my case, I've chosen good grades and social life. I lack sleep most of the time and I would only sleep around 5 hrs a day. Which is not enough in my opinion since it robs me of my energy.
What would you guys choose?

Hi freind,
I will definately choose sound sleep and good grades. Sound sleep will help in maintaining good health, while good grades will get better job. Once you have good health and nice job, society will accept you warmly and you will have good social life too.
Happy Mylortting.

Yup, sleep is very important. I usually would just sleep around 5 hrs a day so its not enough. Especially now when its soo close to exam period.

Hi
I agree with you. At time of exam and other time bound projects we tend to sleep less. but sleeping too less frequently may affect our health.

I would prefer getting enough sleep. So that the energy and time I will be better utilized optimally to get good grades and to get a good social relations. Enough sleep gives us a change to think better, more positive and enthusiastic. So, with enough sleep, when we wake up in the morning, we will be energized. Remember, enough sleep not more sleep.

Getting enough sleep would definitely suffice but not all people are the same though. Some need extra time to study because they need more time to understand the things that they are studying. Some could do minimal and still perform well in their studies. I on the other hand, would need more time to study. I am categorized as the hardworking class, not really the genius smart no work kinda guy

I know of a coursemate who had all three, and everyone was jealous of this guy. But anyway, for me, I would probably choose a good social life and enough sleep. I hate it when I have to spend my time alone in uni and loneliness is a really bad feeling. My hobby is sleeping too, and I find great pleasure from sleeping. On the other hand, I have always been an average student for all my life, so good grades can only be a reality in my dreams. Besides, my main goal while I was in uni was to pass, so as long as I get average grades which enable me to graduate from uni, I will be satisfied. So overall, I would probably sacrifice good grades. I think it's not really necessary to push yourself all the way if you're going to sacrifice more important things in life like socializing and getting enough sleep. Life is not all about studying and academics only......

Same here. I know a guy from highschool who has all three. Although sometimes, he does sacrifice sleep to catch up with his studies but generally, he has all three of them. Now, he's in the same university as I am and its still bothers me how he could juggle all those activities while scoring a perfect 4.0 on his exams.

i choose good grades and enough sleep. If you dont have good grades and enough sleep it will make you stressful and grouchy.. and you will tend to affect your social life. But if you have good grades and enough sleep the other one (good social life) I guess will follow.

Actually I can choose three. I'm not a genius but I think I have good grades in college while having a good social life and enough sleep. Of course my definition of good grades, enough social life and enough sleep might be different in your definition.

Good for you. What I mean by good grades is 3.5 on your cgpa. That is what I would define as good grades. Having all three is like the holy grail of being a student, it would be awesome, used to have all those three in highschool but now when I am in uni, the world just got a little bit bigger

I will choose..good grades and a good social life..enough sleep is important too to our physiological needs,.. but I'd rather not to have enough sleep than to have a low grade and a poor social life. I can take ferrous sulfate anyway.. :)

"a good social life" and "enough sleep".
I guess "good grades" will follow.
the good social life for me isn't a bad thing when it's called "good", is it?
surely it musn't go against my class schedules and other school needs/activities, and since i choose enough sleep, i musn't be spending late nights for my social life.. (of course i intend to be with good company who will not risk their studies for the sake of good social life alone)...
then i'll have three in the end...

I choose a good social life. because, with that, you can make a good grades. enough sleep is an important thing to do. But when we are in college, I don't think that we could make a good sleep. of course we need energy, but it can be manipulated with foods. this is only my opinion.
