yes, understood but as others said, its predictable especially if you are a follower of thriller films that comes without bizarre twist and ending, but generally this is good film. I could just have wish that the main character is not actually crazy, but i knew it already, as a read the direction of the films plot.

I borrowed Shutter Island from my daughter and no it was definately not easily understood. During the whole movie you think you have a straightforward mystery with two detectives but in the end no. He was a mental patient after all. It made sense at the end and you can peice together the little things. Then the actual end was good because he pretended that he was still in his dream world because he knew that if the treatment the doctors gave him didn't work they'd have to kill him. He thought it was better to die a good guy then to live a monster. I think that that was a fitting ending. All in all it was a very good movie.

i think the point of the film is that you dont really know whats going on. i was confused by the end but i like films like that that make you think

Shutter Island is a good thriller movie. But I think it is just too predictable for me.
In the middle of the movie if you are just observing carefully, you can already comprehend the ending.
