Are you scared of mice and rats?

I don't know why but the presence of mice and rats nearby makes me shiver. They are disgusting - the way they look, the smell that they spread in places where they stay for longer time, the way they eat almost anything around them plus the illnesses they spread bring horror in me. I even prefer snakes to mice - no matter that snakes are venomous they don't bring such a terrible feeling in me as mice and rats. Do you understand my phobia and do you share it?

No fears of mice/rats here. My niece actually has a pet rat. Stewie, the rat, is pretty cool. She is white with grey spots and no hair on her tail. I know I can stop describing her now as many are proably freaking out. But when I go over to my sister's house, I can take her out and she will run up and down my arm and across my shoulders to my other arm.
They can be really cool pets if you can get over the fear of having one around.

Hi there! Yes I totally agree with what you have said except with snake preference because I don't like it either. I am so afraid of snake but I am not sure if it is a phobia. But I am not sure if it is a snake phobia because I tend to scream whenever I see a snake at first then I can still control myself after one to two screams. I do not come near snakes even when they are in their cages, what more if a caretaker is holding them? And I tend to dream of snakes after seeing one so I just don't go to zoos.
I really hate mice and rats especially the black ones. I really hate their smell and their feces. I hate them because they can go wherever they want even if we are already in the 9th floor. Anyway I have caught a lot of them using mouse trap but and dump them below. I was surprised that a 3 inch rat still survives after reaching the ground! And I glad cats below are waiting and fast enough to eat them. I wish to totally eliminate rats in our house and I will continue killing them. I even submerged them in water before throwing them on from 9th floor to the ground!

Rats make me nervous. I can remember seeing a movie as a child with huge rats that took over the world. If I could get a million dollars for touching a rat, the money would never be earned. Mice don't bother me as much as rats. I could handle a mouse. Maybe it's just the size. Regardless, I am not crazy about mice or rats.

I am scared of it because it can bring you lepthospirosis that is hard to cure. Other than that I don't really like their smell especially when they were already killed as in YUCKK!!!! I could totally imagine that.

yes, i saw a tiny mouse in my bedroom of all places. i screamed and tried to get him with a broom. i missed him. i called the landlord the next day and he placed decon pellets in parts of paper plates in my bedroom and other rooms upstairs. they are suppose to eat it and die. they look for water and go out after they consume it. the first time i saw the mouse, i was afraid to sleep in my room. i slept in another room. i understand your phobia, me, too....

I've had pet rats and mice, they're actually pretty nice animals. But I've also had wild ones come into the house (rats and mice both) and had no problems with killing them.

i could say , that i scare of mouse or mice but not due to their size of any physical characteristic. I scare of them because they are filthy and i scare of all the filthy things whether they are humans even.
So what matters for me is the clean ness of an animal.

I have had pet rats for many years and they are wonderful animals - friendly, intelligent, clean too. They make their toilets in the furthest part of the cage, far away from their food areas. I have had pet rats who come if I call their name too. Of course, wild rats can be dirty and carry diseases but not pet ones. I understand phobias in general though, as I suffer from some too - but I love rats :-)

I'm not really scared of many things from a distance, but if it runs up to me. Hah, thats a different story. At work.. we have a mouse problem... I saw two of them chasing each other and ran out into the middle of the isle, then back under the shelf. It sounds pretty disgusting, but it was cute to watch them. They like to hang around the animal food isles... Stay away from those in the store, hahahahahaha.
I'm sure the rats and mice think the same thing about you though. Damn humans.. grawr never leaving out any food more than this crumb. Bah Humbug.
