When I rate the people's comments as positive, I feel like I'm saying thank you for their nice words.
It's really nice when you can share your ideas and problems and get good advise from people.
myLot is now my favorite site. Thanks to the people who always give nice input.
Does it affect the status of the people who I rate? I also mark best responses. Will the person posted the comment see that?

According to the Guidelines, we should rate EVERY comment we read whether it is in our discussion or somebody elses. If I respond to a discussion, I rate it before I leave my response. If I make a comment to somebody's response, I rate the response before I leave my comment. In my own discussion, I rate EVERY response whether it is with a positive or negative & then I do my best to make a comment to every response. That is my way of saying THANK YOU for sharing in my discussion!!!

Hi Ddaguno,
It has been a while since I started a discussion, but I can confirm that I do enjoy rating the well thought out responses I receive. I never rate badly, I guess I never will unless someone goes out of their way to insult me, and so it is nice to be able to give the positive vote to the responses I think have been extra moving, or which have had time taken over them. I will admit that I tend to ignore the one liners because I don't see the point of them (that is my universal opinion I am afraid) and so I get almost a buzz from being able to show I care to those who write something for me to actually read and learn from. The rating itself also does have an effect on ratings, and so that is an extra boost because I know that in a way I am helping those who deserve it to achieve a higher rank.
With the BR people see when you do those as well. I know that if I get one I get an e-mail telling me what has happened, and if not then the person will see whenever they wonder into the profile page because they are all listed there
All the best and I hope you continue to enjoy your mylotting experience

Damn, forgot to add one other thing.
I really like rating the responses to other people's discussions, that especially move me as well. I don't always check what other people have said, but if I do and find a response that says what mine would have, or answers the query set down by the discussion starter, then I like to give that a thumbs up as well because I feel the writer deserves it. It feels even better to do that as I feel there is less obligation attached so it is more enjoyable to do
I will leave you in peace now

I sometimes do this, although not as much as I like. Thank you for reminding me that I have some best responses to hand out. I don't like when other don't respond to what I say, but yet I do the same thing. That's called being a hypocrite and I don't like behaving this way.

While I am responding in someone's discussion, I sometimes do forget to rate that particular discussion. The same thing happens while commenting on a response in someone's discussion.
But if it is my discussion then I rate each and every response that people make. I also try and leave a comment to each of their response. But sometimes I do miss some because of lack of time. I am guilty of that and I am sorry.

Yes I do, and I rate them for different reasons.
Sometimesbecause are just really well written, sometimes they give exactly the information you asked for and very often they simply make me laugh.
I think it is only fair that we rate each other's responses, that , to me, is what the site is all about

Hello,
I think it is very important to give a rating to as many discussions and responses as possible. This is the only way members will learn just how good or bad they are and so can make adjustments to the next discussion they start or response that they give.
Mylot is about building a community so giving ratings will help to build this and improve it.
If someone has taken the time and effort to respond to a open discussion about an interest of there's , the least anyone can do is give an honest rating, feedback.
The more we interact with other mylot members the bigger and stronger the social network community will become, which can only be a bonus for everyone involved.
Happy ratings day..

I rate too, and ually positive, as I don't like giving negative ratings. I have given a few though when people would post referral links, or were rude and bnoxious and just plain mean. Other than that, I will always rate positive. It does feel good to rate others though as I feel like you dod, that when they have a nice comment or response,t hen I will rate them for it. At least they took the time to respond, so I will at least rate them. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.
