Have you bought a new home, especially a newly constructed home, and come across any problems?
We bought our home in July 2009. A few months later we had a small plumbing issue, which the builder did resolve. The, just a few weeks after that, we had our outdoor heating/AC unit, which is elevated off the ground since we live on a hill, actually almost fall! One of the brackets holding it up came completely out of the wall and it was dangling there, only supported by one brace! The builder fixed that as well, but it make me wonder what is going to happen next?
Hopefully those were the only issues we'll have for awhile, especially since we have still not even lived there a year.
I know there are always minor issues like caulk expanding and small leaks from that, nail pops and whatnot, but hopefully this is the end of our problems for awhile! We are generally very happy. How is your new home? : )

Hi,
I bought a new home in 2004, watched it being built. It was also my 1st house with my now ex. It was really exciting & we had to have everything new, well we didn't have much anyway as we'd both been living back with our respective parents.
It was great for 5 minutes, then we had prblems with pretty much everything. The boiler was fitted wrong, the water meter leaked all over the new kitchen cabinets, which we were not impressed at as we had paid for upgrades on the kitchen.
The door lock on the front door didn't work, the dinternal door handles all got stuck after about a month. The stair case hadn't been fitted properly.
The builders had laid turf, badly, that we didn't want as my ex was a dog handler and wanted all hard standing for his 2 dogs.
When we first moved in they were still building other houses and one day I heard the sound of running water & as I walked into the kitchen, there was this labourer filling up his 3 buckets on my water bill!!!! I hit the roof & complained, put a lock on the garden gate.
If your house is new, alot of your problems sound like shrinkage, which is what happens when the house settles. Our builders fixed any small problems like that for 2 years.
Sorry to go on x

We no longer live there as the relationship broke down. However I do still own it, I just rent it out now. The only issues now are minor things but the house is now 6 years old.
I really hope your house is fab & your don't have any problems.
All the best with it x

Our next door neighbor had all sorts of complaints, but we had very few. We hadn't been in the house long when our shower started backing up. Turned out one of the workmen had dropped a cloth down the pipe. Also something happened with the AC, some minor part. There were a few cosmetic things. That's about all...

They found some rag in our plumbing they tried to blame on us, but we fought that and they paid for the damage. It was ridiculous!

I don't have a new house but would not be happy w/the problems u are having. People just half do their jobs anymore in my opinion. My son & dil have just had a new house built. We'll see if they have problems, i bet they will. i hope u don't have anymore.

When my father bought this house some few years ago, it was a wonderful outset and we all love it so we were so happy to be living in a grand house. But shortly after, there were the problems in the bathroom where the water in the tub was not going through the pipe outside, then the furniture in the kitchen was not quite good when we open the cupboard to see inside. The water pipe which goes upstairs was not totally functioning and the seller did not tell us that water was coming only early in the morning and late at night at about nine so it was really frustrating for all of us. Now we had to do everything.
