tv digital cable

does digital cable tv have the same quality with dvd? i have a lcd tv and analogic cable tv and it doesn't satisfies me. if i put digital cable tv will there be a obvious change in good?

In theory, the definition of digital cable TV should be nearly equivalent to DVD, but still the quality of DVD is more or less superior. Just imagine that an one-hour film is stored on a 4.5GB disc... I am not sure if paid digital TV will renders better quality, for it is highly contingent on the programme producer. I mean if they don't produced their programmes in accordance with the digital TV protocol, you still get ordinary TV pictures.
