What is so special about monalisa painting?

Hey!! Hope everyone has got some good idea about painting and of course about monalisa painting. Not only me , everyone has come across so many paintings and some has habit of painting as well. But why is monalisa painting so special? is it a painting which cant be painted now at this modern age with so many facilities and advancements??? No!!! then what is keeping it so special. Have you ever thought of it? I have always thought of it and asked about this to my family members. the answers were not so convincing..can you answer or just share what you think.thats more important.

The painting is famous because of her facial expression. Nobody can say or determine the passion in her face. You can't say whether she is happy or sad. Another thing is some say the Monalisa is Leonardo's self portrait.

for me it's very simple....it was an artwork made by a famous artist, and to the fact that it's around 500 years old. But if your talking about the specialty regardless of its age and creator, it was a picture from da vinci's time...and it shows the kind of landscape that time have....the kind of people on that era....and lastly, it shows the culture of that era, which is very valuable for time studying...and if your going to ask me as an artist, it was a superb creation. you can almost feel the emotion of the creator of monalisa, as if she was telling you something that is so important.
