Would you rather be the teacher or the student?

Are you good at certain things and would like to teach them to others? Or would you rather be the student that sits back, listens, and learn from the teacher. I have always been the student. I would like to be the teacher for once. Being able to teach others must make one feel important, intelligent, and proud.

I think even the teachers feel like students with right students who are smart and quick and really want to learn what they have to put out there. I would want to be a student and learn from the best scholars. There is always room for questions and exchange of ideas whether you are one or the other.

Learning is more interesting when you're curious about things and want to learn more about them. Sometimes I'm curious about things and I will ask people questions about them to find out more information about them. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Happy mylotting!

Maybe I wanted to be a student forever... I always wanted to enroll in every scholarships available in town. This discussion gave me a thought to ponder, I have assessed myself that I am a student for all season. So I guess it's time for me to change gear. I will be a teacher now, I will share and teach my lessons learned from those school. Though it was short courses, but it can help them to gain knowledge as much as I have learned from it.

So what subjects will you teach if you are a teacher? Is karate one of them?

Throughout the college, I've been among the serious students, who always went to classes and pretty much knew what it was all about. Because most of my colleagues didn't came to classes, at a certain point, they needed someone to tell them what they needed to know to pass the exams. That's when I come in and act as a "teacher". To some for friendship and to some for a small fee. Doing that for quite a number of times, I can say that I've enjoyed teaching others. Now, doing it for a living is crazy in my country, because the teacher wage leaves you with little money above what you need to survive. I also did it because the outstanding majority of my college teachers failed to do their job properly. I'm not saying that they were too stupid and had no idea what they were talking about, just that they had no clear class management plan: tell the students how the class will go on, what is asked from them, and in the end actually behave according to the rules they priorly announced... But that's another discussion... Considering the poor quality of my teachers performance, I'd rather be the teacher...

Every one of us is a teacher and a student in different way, we are student because we learn from our experience, from others point of view and many more, We also become a teacher how? we do teach people who are younger than us or people who is lack of information in many things right?, teaching doesn't mean you will teach a scripted lesson from a specific topic to the student assign to you, teaching is sharing your knowledge to other whether it's not your student or your not in school. and becoming a student is not always in school sitting on a chair and listening to what your prof say, you can be student in every day life, you learn many things from others, and you learn a lot from your every day experience in life,

The student, without a doubt. If I´m the teacher then I must learn every topic for the classes and I´m not patient when teaching. But, if I´m the student I can do my favorite class activity: sleep until the bell rings.

There are different teachers for different classes, like science, math, language, history, and home ec. You don't have to know every subject. Sleep in class? What teacher lets you sleep in class? Unless you are in preschool, teachers don't let you do that.

well, i just like to be just a student. well because being a teacher is a big responsibility. you must handle your students and make them listen to you. for me, being a teacher is such a hard job. so i prefer being a student only.
21 May 10
Being a student can be hard too because you have to pay attention in class or you won't understand the material really well, you have to do your homework, and you have to study and do well on tests to pass the course. A student has his/her own responsibility but a teacher has a bigger responsibility because there's only one teacher versus a bunch of students. Also, if you like listening more than talking, being a student is suited for you.

both, one cannot teach if he/she cannot learn. for me i really don't like teaching stuff if i think they can learn it for themselves or sometimes i have learned it by myself

Teaching something to somedone can make you feel good about yourself. We should be proud of teachers and what they accomplish as they educate. I would prefer to be the student instesd of the teacher. We learn new things by being a student. You are never too young or too old to be educated/ It is the best part of life.

this discussion reminds me of the time when my cousin and i were asked what we would like to be when we grow up. she said she wants to be a teacher while i said i'd like to be an accountant. now that we're grown ups, she's doing accounting jobs and i'm teaching. well, i never liked teaching when i was young. it just came to a point that i know that God had blessed me so much with all the learnings that it had overwhelmed me. this made me decide to share what i learned or learning. don't get me wrong --- i love to learn, i was and will be a good student. as time passes by, knowledge, and wisdom too, keeps on increasing in number and it's not just us who needs them. it's best to share them! so teach! anyway, people learn in many ways and so you can teach in a thousand ways too. teaching will give you that sense of fulfillment you've always wanted.

hello i would rather like to be a student than to be a teacher because they have got a really hectic job to do and they are just restless in their work they just need to work hard keep their temper in control they need to control their emotions they are just got to be nice to everyone and it should be noted that when they are not nice then it creates a problem so it is nice to be a student enjoying the life

I had always been wanting to be a professor or a teacher. I feel I have the magnificent encouraging power to teach or to make my students learn from me. I know my students will not be bored. I love to share my knowledge. I am not a Certified Public Accountant being an Accountant, but I am a Certified Teacher to my 6 children, at least.

Hi iwinagain, though I'm no longer a yound one anymore I still prefer to be a student. For there are still lots of new information as well as knowledge in this modern and advanced world for me to learn. To me it's always a great pleasure to have teachers to lead me to the destination which I could acquire what I wish. Moreove I'm lack of new technolagy knowledge and info for all the brand new devices and websites like. If I were to be a teacher I think I'm being able to teach others to read and write my own language only Or some basic ways how to cook rice and local dishes Have a nice day

I like to be both. But I think Human is student forever if they want to be better. Because learning is not only at school but the world and life is real school. And I think to be teacher is our duty. Because after we get some values from learning, we have to tell other. So, some knowledge can be spread and all can feel the benefit.

I'd rather be the student. I like to learn stuff about life. Although, time will come when we'll be teachers cuz we'll all be parents someday and we need to teach our kids how to get around life.
