Congratulations on your new job. I have never worked in that field, but have met many people who did. It will undoubtedly be stressful, but less stressful than being on the other end of the table.

I'm not an HR Officer but I am friends with my former colleague who held the same position. From what I saw, it's pretty much a challenging job. You have to be in charge with hiring people and screening applicants, and making sure the current employees are upholding the rules of the company. You also have to create programs, exercises or team building seminars for the employees to reawaken their passion for their work and the company. You also have to have good rapport with your co-employees. I guess it only becomes stressful if you don't like what you're doing, but I think it's more of a challenge in the sense that you have to do something that would be interesting for the employees and make them want to stay in the company.

hi Kevin. being an HR officer is both rewarding and challenging. there is a lot of opportunity when you are in this position. one more thing, with such experience it is easier for you one to get a better position in admin. from the company i came from, HR officers experience a lot of challenges. one thing you have always put in mind is that the employees must be treated fairly. employees know their right. so, little delays and inconveniences on their benefits would actually raise a little challenge. though it isn't HR's fault, people would still shoot at you since you are the frontliners. so just toughen it out a little, k? but never ever fight with an employee.=) being an HR Officer is rewarding, you have to believe that. =) goodluck on the job. =)
