A teacher friend of mine tells me most homework is just busywork. I don't believe in daily homework. For older kids, long term projects or papers are good, but daily worksheets and things like taht are just silly. I always had to hound my older child to get his homework done,so itw as a burden to me. I mean, the kids are in school all day long. It should end when the school day ends, in my opinion, so they can have family time or after school activities.

Yes, there are times when I have noticed that my children used to have too much homework to do sometimes. We cannot blame their teachers for this, because there is only one homework per class subject. For my child to be able to cope with all of them, I coach them so they will not take too long in doing them all. My child will still be doing the assignments but my presence makes sure that my child does the homework right at each step of the way. Despite this method, there are times when we finish all those homework somewhere around midnight. Not a very good time for a child to be sleeping but, this is part of teaching our children to face their responsibilities.

In today's world kids need homework. There are too many things that distract them and cause them to be irresponsible and it is up to us to teach them to be responsible people. I think the homework helps in doing that and helping them prepare for the future.

Well the homework itself wouldn't be bad if they would do it right. There are some nights were she'll have four hours or more worth of work that is due the next day and other days where she doesn't have any. There is no reason for it and it makes it very frustrating for the child. It can be very overwhelming and makes it so they don't want to do the work. Not a good situation.

I think that kids who are overloaded with homework do not have enough time for other activities. I don't mean that they need time for video games and such, but outside activities that allow them to use their muscles.

I think kids have a lot of homework. I as a student can tell you that it makes me hate school. When i don't have as much homework i go to school more relaxed and more eager to learn. People we have to stop over stressing our kids.
