I keep my mouth shut when people ask why Lito lapid won. I felt that it would not be proper to criticize somebody just because he has not reached a high educational level like us. because as a doctor, if I would be given job like writing a paper, that is something I could not do for the past three years if that will be the alloted time that anyone would give me. However, Lito lapid, who just finished grade three and was not conversant in English was able to come up with very helpful laws. Anyone could check the laws in his websites. He has even more laws than Chiz Escudero who has been very active and vocal in the senate.

Hi friend. I'm very certain that Lito Lapid has passed only one law and that is the Lapid Law which provide free legal assistance to the needy. Since you said that he had innumerable laws made, I checked his website as what you commended but I found only the Lapid Law as the only law he passed. Maybe you mean the Bills and Resolution. Bills are not law, by definition it is a proposed law under consideration by a legislature and it will not become a Law unless it is passed by the legislature and in most cases approved by the executive. Resolution meanwhile is a written motion adopted by a deliberative body and its substance can be anything that can normally be proposed as motion.

Well I did not vote for him last election even though I see that he was able to create a law so he claims. I felt that there are better new faces that could have entered the senate but I guess the majority still wants him in the senate so I have to respect that. Let see how he will fare for the next 6 years.

I'm sorry to tell this, but it seems that Lito Lapid won not because of his laws but because of popularity, the truth is there are more people out there that are more credible than Mr. Lapid and yet could not win because people don't know about them. I don't want to criticized him but Mr. Lapid came into a wrong public position. He may be a good Governor but him, as a good senator i don't know.
As far as the number of laws is concerned, if I'm not mistaken. Mr. Lapid came into the senate ahead than Mr.Escudero,if it is, diffinetely it is not confusing why he has many laws being passed compared to Escudero for the reason that he spend more time in the senate as compared to Escudero.

exactly, Filipino voters are immature in general, they do not research, they vote by popularity rather than qualifications and accomplishment. very evident on the soon be president of our recently elected.

He does?! I thought he only has the Lapid Law where he provided free legal assistance to accused people. :-) What are his laws? My family and I joked that he will have another 6 years for Lapid Law II. He said in his interview that he has one more law to implement. You might be affected because he wants to provide free medical assistance to all barangays. He's going to call on you doctors for his law.

:) Well, if he would do that, I think it would benefit us because there will be works for most of us. do you know that a lot of us are earning meagerly and ware underpaid by hospital owners. That was my case before I went to residency training. Only when my husband and I went to government practice did we earn decently. A community doctor in ev'ry corner would be a good step for us. I was happy because the setting up of government hospitals in Bulacan would provide me a good income even if I no longer get a clinic and do private practice after i graduate from training.

twenty eight (28) bills have been passed into law - a clear proof to the sensitivity of the Senator to the developments, issues and concerns of the times.
-that is what I copied from his web site the senatorlitolapid-----
thank you theadvocate for the response

hello..
several years ago, when i hear about Lito Lapid, people would despise him like a trash in a senate that he was just consuming all the coffee and wastes his time sitting there all his term. Thats how people described him. the probable discrimination might be due to where he came from. He was just an actor, they say.
Now, the point is. Why do people criticize lito lapid like the way, Ted Failon and Pinky webb laugh at him whenever they call him Leon Guerrero? If they criticize Lito Lapid for being Idle in the senate, then why do they had the yellow ribbon on their set? Why do they go for Noynoy whom is worse than Lito Lapid. Lito Lapid has Lapid Law.. Is there a Noynoy Law?
well, I dont intend to criticize Noynoy Aquino, but lets be fair.
The starter of this topic is really an open minded person that he did search information and she is even implying that, those who are not politically educated are more productive than those politicians such as CHIZ ESCUDERO.Do you Know what makes them look busy in the senate? Its because theyre so photogenic and so camera friendly. Now, this Lito Lapid whose got all the photo and camera in his life before entering politics, is so busy in creating laws rather than debate for his personal agenda.
why do we have so many hearings in the senate? Why do we have so much impeachment cases filed against every Philippine President? Is it really for the truth and the right of the people? For me, No. They debate for their personal agenda. To destroy an administration maybe. To retaliate for not releasing PDAF, maybe. To encourage people power and get to the throne, maybe. ETCETERA.

Sorry if I mix things up, but at least I have to say that Lito Lapid is doing his work. he is trying to do something=).I am thinking that someone would like to make something in return for what he is being paid for. I am sure that as a human with ego, Lito just like anyone would try to move

Danzylop, I think the one who started the discussion is wrong. I looked at the website listing his accomplishments and I agree with another discussion on top where he differentiated between laws, bills and resolutions. Lapid has only one law.
A senator's job is not only to enact laws. We have so many laws except for the ones that really matter. In my opinion, the more important duty of a senator is to oversee the purse. To me it is not a mark of a good senator to have passed many laws. You have to take a look at the quality of the laws passed. Take the Lapid Law for example. This is a mere duplication of the functions of the Public Attorney's Office (PAO). This is a total waste of resources. I think he just enacted it just so he can claim something, much like Erap's one and only Carabao law. So, really, the premise is incorrect and therefore the conclusion is too.

ha, you mean to say your good senator has made laws which you can't count. what a superman leon guerrero must be. more than splitting bullets, he has made laws that is beyond one's ability to count, including you. so, let's not split hairs because have innumerable laws, he probably made more laws than all lawmakers since the inception of law making.

he just pass one law, better than noynoy but not entirely impressive, senate requires academic background not just the will to help, it is very academic in nature and to be effective you should be academic.
i just hope someday the requirement for running as senator should be lifted to a more academian type.
in my opinion reelectin lapid to the senate is not a wise vote. 1 law in 3 year time is not impressive at all.

The laws passed by Lito lapid is a result of having a good staff. . . maybe he has bright staff to work for him .. . To be fair with lito Lapid, he is doing his part as a Senator . ..

Really? I really couldn't believe that hahaha. But now that I think about he deserves to be a senator anyways, unlike our incoming president, who hasn't made or co-authored even a single law. How lame could he be! ugh! He has been a senator for a long time, and he is only a seat warmer in the senate.

Way back in the campaign period, Lito Lapid has the least visibility of all the candidates last election and still won. I was impressed with the number of votes he gathered. Lapid is a silent operator in the senate and has many bills passed and 28 of them were approved. His service does not contain through words and mouth but he did it through his work and dedication to help his country.

Wow! Really??? I'll make a not to check it out.
Maybe for him it's not judge the book by its cover but don't judge the person by his speech.
