It's installed automatically on my laptop and desktop computer but I don't use it. I'm not a fan of Internet Explorer, to many risks from using it in the past and I've never had an issue with Firefox.
The progression of I.E does interest me, it's funny seeing them take features from Firefox and visa versa.
It's useful having I.E as a backup, isn't for main use for me however.

been using IE8 for some months now.
I used to be an opera fan but i got irritated by the few sites that just didn't like the compatability problems, mostly my banking!
i find it quite dull to be honest. most things are rendered for IE or Mozilla so at least you know you are seeing things correctly. However if you are a real techie and like to tweek all the settings it's annoyingly guarded and things like security go from endless options lists to a slider for low, medium, high!
overall i think its probably worth having on your system if you are not pushed for space. but i find the browser people use is a bit like the jumper they first grab when they are cold, you can replace it but they stick to what they know and feel comfortable in!

Internet Explorer has proven to be the least secure Internet browser in a lot of research and tests that have been conducted.
For this reason alone I stay away from it. It also tends to use far too much RAM for my liking. Opera seems to be the best browser that I have used, it is one of the most secure and uses up very little RAM. Some of the in-built features in it are also very handy to use.
It all comes down to personal preference in the end, but if you want better security and less susceptibility to exploits and viruses, I advise you to try a new more secure browser.

What features do you think are good that were not in

Yes..I have downloaded it..It's quite fast in browsing the internet but what I don't like about it is that it consumes too much RAM which slows my computer and sometimes causes it to hang up..This was when I had Windows XP as my operating system. But now, I have Windows Vista, in which Internet Explorer 8 is working fine..
