Who has heard of Beth Tweddle?

Have any of you heard of British gymnast Beth Tweddle? She is the most amazing gymnast we have ever had in the UK. She has won many medals in major competitions and is the reigning World Champion on the flooor exercise and European Champion on both bars and floor. Hopefully she will win Olympic medals in 2012. She is an amazing gymnast, but I don't think she is well-known, so I wondered what you knew about her, if anything? We met her at the 2009 Worlds and 2010 Europeans and I will attach a photo I took of her.

I thinks she's very popular. Well, she's the best gymnast Great Britain has ever had! Her amplitude and technique on bars is just exceptional. She's the 2006 World Champion on bars! She even defeated Nastia Liukin that year.. In 2008 Olympics, her bar routine was even more difficult than Kexin's and Nastia's.

Yes, she is amazing on bars and I am really pleased she is also great on the floor, so she is capable of winning two gold medals, like she has done before, for example at the 2010 European Championships.
I'm in England so I expect that is not a surprise!!@karen1969 (1779)

I wish she was better known both here in the UK and overseas. She has really achieved so much. I saw an article on the Mirror website today about Beth getting her MBE at the Palace today, which reminded me of her. Hopefully she will be a gold medal in the 2012 Olympics then she will receive more publicity and recognition.
