Hi Artistry,
I love love love the ocean. I grew up near the beach and there is nothing so refreshing as running into the icy waves of the ocean until your body gets used to the frigid cold and then warming up under the sun. If given the choice, the beach wins hands down. Have I ever seen a shark? No. A jelly fish once and countless starfish and sand dollars, clams but no sharks.

....Hi there sid, Hope you are doing well. I do so love the ocean as well, to look at and savor its beauty. I admire anyone who swims in the ocean, I am too chicken, the most I do is wade in the water. Your words almost make me feel the temperature change from going into the water and warming up. Very vivid. Thanks so much for your reply, have a great weekend. Take care.

I generally prefer swimming in a pool than anywhere else. I like having the safety. You know what's in the water that you're swimming in and there are clear boundaries. It's much safer to swim in a pool than in the ocean for a variety of reasons. And yes I have seen a shark when I was at the beach before.

.....Hi Jaluke, I think I am in total agreement with you, you do have boundaries in a pool. All of a sudden in the ocean you can hear the Jaws music starting to play "o)
and who can swim as fast as Michael Phelps. A pool has chemicals to purify the water so to speak, so I think swimming in a pool with walls is a neater choice for me at least at the moment. Now with the oil spill continuing to flow in the Gulf region, we might not have any ocean to swim in. Glad to know you just saw the shark and nothing else. Thanks for your response and take care.

I prefer swimming in a pool, but swimming in the ocean is great fun. But the ocean is more than 300 miles away from where I live. I usually only swim in the ocean when we're on vacation or on a cruise. I've never seen a shark, but I have seen some unique fish, a few dolphins, and a whale while swimming in the ocean.
Swimming in a pool is cleaner and you won't get salt in your eyes. The chlorine only hurts after awhile but salt stings immediately.

You do watch too must television! lol The chances of being attacked by a shark are very low, especially at a populated beach. It's so much fun swimming in the ocean because you can dive into the tide and jump with the waves. You really should try it sometime!

....Hi there allyoftherain, Hope you are doing very well. I as well prefer to swim in a pool, I like the thought of having boundaries. Oceans, because I see too many movies make me think of Jaw's music "o). So swimming in a pool becomes my choice. I love looking at the ocean, it is truly beautiful but little sharks inviting themselves to swim with you in the ocean scare me a bit. Again watching too much television. Thanks so much for your response, take good care.

dear artistry,
i like both. we are about 45 minutes near beaches and various resorts and even a tourist island is about an hour and a half to two hours far from home.
but since i am not a good swimmer, i go just where i know i can handle myself. and for a safer distance, i bring along a floater or whatever i could hold on to if i get tired swimming.
naaaa. i have not seen any shark in the ocean. but there is a park nearby one resort where they have a pool full of sharks about 3 feet long each now. i just go there and watch them swim.

...Hi there tigeraunt, Where you live sounds very much like a vacation a day place. How much fun is that to have all those nice places to go whenever you choose to? Gosh all gangula, one of my silly sayings which means wow!. "o) But it sure sounds great. Swimming in an ocean is one thing that I cannot claim to have done, neither have I ever seen a real live shark, only on television that I remember. Wait, I think I have seen some sharks from the deck of a cruise ship but they were way out there in the water, not anywhere near my feet. Thanks for another fun comment. Take good care.

Recently, I swim in the ocean but not in deep water, when i swim into the deeper water I am really afraid of many types of wild creature and crowds fishes. My swimming skills are not experienced so i just swim along the beach parallel the ocean boundaries.

..Hi zyxel999, For just the reasons you state I find myself not very interested in venturing into the ocean. The ocean is so beautiful to look at but with all the other creatures that call the ocean their home I tend to allow them their privacy
"o). I am also not that great a swimmer, so the security of a swimming pool and it's boundaries helps my confidence that I will be safe and can get out of the water when I want to. Thanks for your response. Take care.

I never got a chance to swim anywhere else other than the pool. I do stay in a coastal area, but never allowed to swim in the sea. I feel to swim in the sea you need lot of nerves and practice.

...Hi durgabala, Welcome to the ranch, it's a great place to meet new friends. I agree with you, in the ocean you are without boundaries, as opposed to being in a pool where you can grab a wall to hold on to. There is a bottom that you can stand on as well, the ocean is very deep. Nerves and practice are a good start, I didn't have many opportunities to swim in the ocean and to tell you the truth I never looked for many. The ocean is beautiful but I would rather swim in a pool. Thanks so much for stopping by. Take good care.

In a pool,of course! It's the safest in generally speaking.Honestly,I also have looked fowards to the ocean because of the nevels or the poems. But after that,I have to aware that it's just only kept in imagination.I frequently know from TV news that there are lots of children drowned in the reservoir, even the sharks in the ocean? But if safety, maybe I would consider the stream, river or lakes,it's enjoyed the nature, with all of the said.

...Hi forance, A belated welcome to the ranch, enjoy yourself. I do love the beauty of the ocean, but I have never ventured into the ocean except to wade in the shallow water on the beach if that. I admire anyone who is courageous enough to go out and swim freely in the ocean. Too many different creatures in the lovely water for me. They even come close to shore sometimes. So I will just look and appreciate the beauty of nature, and swim in the controlled envoirnment of a pool "o). Thanks for your response, take care.

I prefer swimming in the ocean i find it a lot more peaceful because there is no one around. The ocean Is not far away from me about 20 minute walk. Iv seen a shark one time i hired a professional diving guide he took me out we went down saw tons of fish and a small black reef shark.

...Hi shorty, Welcome to the ranch, it's a great place to meet new friends and some nice people. I love to look at the ocean, I think it is one of the greatest things in nature, so beautiful, the ocean and the sea. But my confidence level has me prefering to swim in a pool, I guess so that I can head for the wall and grab hold. You are very lucky to be that close to the ocean. A small black reef shark is fine thing to see. Especially the small part "o). Thank you very much for your response, have a great weekend.
