I can't even imagine how many times I laugh in a day. I love laughing and try to see the funny side of life whenever I can. I've thought about it a lot and I don't think I'm using laughter as a defense mechanism against depression or anything, at least not most of the time... I honestly love to laugh!
I always thought I'd die one day of a heart attack or stroke but since hearing the same thing about laughter, plus the way I eat and lack of any family history of stroke or heart attack, I think I'll probably avoid fatal heart issues.
You've given me something to think about, though. I'm going to have to try to count the number of times I actually laugh in an average day. I'll have to get back to you on this one.

Hey, Jen! 32!!! I laughed 32 times yesterday! I'm not sure if that's average or if I laughed more or less than usual because I was counting but I can say it felt pretty normal for me.

Hi, JenInTN, great discussion. Seems that people like to laugh and no wonder, it makes you feel much better.
I like to have fun with friends and sometimes with people I don´t know - it is a good way to create contact..
I love to make others laugh and when we talk about something, I often remember some fun story about that subject. It gives us both a reason to laugh, and that is one of the best gifts you can give your friends.. Makes them happier and healthier..

Yes, I can vouch for the fact that laughter is wonderful medicine. I can well imagine that it can help prevent a heart attack, as stress plays a big part in causing heart problems. When we are laughing, it is a great feeling and we cannot really be stressed and laugh at the same time.. Well not properly anyway! _Derek

I usually make other people laugh and I laugh along with them. I read jokes and pass it on to those around me. Reading rib-tickling jokes can make you laugh even if no one is around and you have no reason to laugh. I agree laughter is the best medicines. It increases the circulation of the blood, increases the oxygen intake and I think that is an essential ingredient for healthy living.

I laugh whenever I hear a funny joke or watch a funny movie. well, I can say that very often cause people around are funny and crazy and they really make me laugh and sometimes if their jokes are no that funny I still manage to laugh cause the person is so corny haha. And most of my time I like to spend it with happy and funny people. I am also becoming a funny and it make me smile whenever I see them happy. ^_^

i think most of us love to laugh. i love to laugh too, i always makes my wife laugh ans seeing her laughing makes me laugh good too. our son makes us laugh too, kids do things that are unexpected then it will make you laugh so hard you can cry. it is cool to hear that laughing can prevent heart attack. it is really good to smile and to laugh than to frown.

Hey Jen! I try to laugh as much as possible! I watch late night
comedy shows as much as I can and hope that I will at least have
my nightly "laugh fix"! Sometimes my cats make me laugh, sometimes
my boyfriend does! I never know when or where I will get it and
it doesn't matter as long as I get it! Sometimes I actually make
myself laugh! My friends think I'm funny! I just wish I spent more
time laughing~and less time depressed~

I do agree that laughter is the best medicine. I try to laugh a lot during the day, myself, but I never have kept up with how many times I laugh. I love to laugh, too. I used to watch a lot of comedies on tv and that always helped me. I haven't seen very many comedies these days that I think are all that funny any more.

i laugh a lot when i watch talk shows on television and those discussing about a certain topic get to commit a lot of booboos and put their foot on their mouth a lot of times. other than that, i lead a very quiet and laughless life... working on my computer, reading books and simply enjoying light and soft music... also, playing with my 5 dogs, 2 cats and a rooster... probably, when my pets start making jokes, i'll have more occasion to laugh...

Laughter is best medicine indeed. But the problem is in today's world most people have forgotten to laugh. That why laughing club have emerged where people laugh artificially. Laughing is a great stress buster and therefore help in preventing many deseases.

Laughing naturally is really wonderful.
In my country there are many laughing clubs. Initially it helps in removing inhabitation ans slowly slowly people develop habit of laughing naturally.

I also love to laugh but know that I don't near as much as I should or would like to. Since I am alone most of the time, there isn't always much to laugh about!! I love being with the grandbabies and laughing with them and I am always getting forwards that causes me laugh out loud they are so funny. And I can always laugh at myself........I do all the time. I'd say I might laugh 5-8 times on a good day.........unless my grandkids are around. Then I couldn't possibly count how many times!!

I love to laugh! I can remember times with my ex or with old friends when i used to litterally laugh my back side off. My facial muscles would be sore the next day. Now if I laugh once during the day I feel fortunate. I have a good sense of humor and I do find things funny in life. I just don't laugh like I used to.

I hope I do too. With so much crap in the family lately I just have found no joy or real reason to laugh much over the last few months. It is getting better. Just not where I used to be. I just don't care much anymore. Lost it. You keep on keepin' on though. I enjoy you very much. Thank you for the opportunity of knowing you as little as I do.

I don't laugh everyday, but, when I do laugh I love those gut wrenching, belly aching laughs that leave me limp! I love comedies, but, I also love horror movies.
Laughter truly is the best medicine and I can understand why it would be good for a person's overall mental and physical health.

Hi kellyjeanne! Did you find you a new mattress?
I certainly think that laughing is best for our overall wellbeing. I love those breath losing laughs that you think about days later and have to laugh again too..lol..It's hard to laugh everyday sometimes but I think I do laugh at least once. I am a bit of a prankster/jokester so I often get one or two in..lol. Thanks for the response.

I laugh all the time, in fact if something gets me down I am more inclined to find something to laugh about so I can forget my troubles and avoid the pain! I don’t know if doing that is a good thing but laughing can’t be bad. My daughter and I are laughing most of the time. Sometimes when s**t happens you may as well laugh, it beats crying!

I must admit while reading this post I could not help but to laugh, not mocking it but stimulated me to laugh. Strange as it may sound. I am going to take this post as sound advice. :)
