Have you experience that one or two of your room mates snoring to loud as in you can here it in the whole room,
I experience it when I'm in a youth camp I think were almost 50+ in one big room with full of triple deck bed, I really don't know what will going to do because most of us can't sleep because there is one youth campers that really snore so loud, I just tried to sleep and put something in my ear so that I minimize the sound I'm hearing,
have you experience the same situation, if yes what did you do?

I recently experienced that problem in a youth camp too. The difference is that the one's snoring were our two coordinators. It's been really loud and I was one of those who can't sleep at all. I did tried my best to sleep but it's really hard to do so. It took me a couple of minutes to fell asleep. The best thing to do for a person not to snore too loud is to have a good side view position in sleeping. You better suggest that to one of the campers who snore.

hi xeroeight
i don't have any room mate but if i will have and he will snore i think i would put a pillow on his face or just put cotton balls on the holes of his nose.
i think i will just talk to the owner and tell her to change the room of my room mate if there's another room available, but i think i will make him decide by showing him my ways so he can go to another room without having black eyes.. just kidding..
have a nice day

LOL that sound new, maybe it turns out that your snoring is music to her ears, that is a good thing because she can sleep even your snoring, how long before she finally didn't get disturb by your snoring?
By the way I suggest to consult a doctor about it, because snoring is a sleep disorder

Well the way I see it is if you can have a roommate that you live with then you should be at a point in the friendship where you can express how you feel about any subject. You could let them know that their snoring is disrupting your sleep. Or... you can go buy them a box of breath-right strips which are snoring agents that go over the bridge of your nose and removes anything that would restrict you from snoring. You could also ask the person who is snoring to switch spots with someone else.
Take care

Yeah breath right strips look something like band-aids the just go over the bridge of your nose but they are flexible and can bend. I know that if a person lays on their back, they will start snoring. Being overweight also is a contributing factor too.. so my mom says lol.

When a snore wakes me up, because someone in the room is snoring so loudly, I try to go back to sleep but when the snore is just so annoying that I can go back to sleep I wake the person up. I'd rather wake the person rather than not being able to sleep because of the snore.

Good for you that you can sleep with music on. Me, I cant sleep with any noise especially the sound of snore. I remember, when I was a kid, I used to sleep beside my parents and my mother snores a lot, I usually get scared of the snore. I thought it was a monster. lol.

I experienced that already, not in the dorm with other people but in my home with my friend overslept in my room. It's quite irritating but she's my friend so I can do something to stop her. I just put an earphone in my ears and listen in my favorite song so I can able to sleep well. The next morning, I told her about her in a very nice way that I could and gave her some advices. =)

Oh yes. I have experienced it with my room mates. What I did is to listen to it and make fun with them. I recorded it and on the next day, I let them listen it. They even laughed..haha..At the end of the day, they slapped me with a pillow. hehe..it's really fun. I always slept late during those days that's why I usually caught them snoring!. Even one of my room mates is a dipsomaniac (sleep walker). Correct me if I'm wrong.

I did and I still do. My husband snores especially if he's so tired and in deep sleep. Lucky that i can wake him up or pat him a little so he'll gain a little consciousness. but during those times when I hate to wake him up, I just get up and play my favorite jazz music.
An ear plugs will lessen that annoying sound but it is kind of uncomfortable, aren't they?
@xeroeight (1060)

yes it is really uncomfortable, maybe you should bring your husband to a doctor and get him a check up because snoring is sleep disorder, there's a lot of mylotter response to my discussion most of them really have bad night because of snoring, I guest we just need to bare it use some nice idea how to not get disturb by snoring , like what you do listening to music, having a ear plug but still a person who snore really need to consult about it, what is the reason why he/she is snoring

I know it is extremely difficult to sleep when a person sleeping next to you is snoring.I just can't sleep in a situation like this.If the person is a friend or somebody close to me,I wouldn't think twice and wake him up and tell him to try and not snore. But if he is a stranger, like it happens sometimes when we are traveling in a train on an overnight journey,I'd wait for somebody else to walk up to him and shake and wake him up..:)....Unfortunately, sometimes nobody takes the initiative and this guy becomes a nightmare for everybody.I wish people could hear themselves snoring and get disturbed themselves,so that others could be saved...:)

ya I also wish that they can hear their own snore and get disturb by it, but we can't blame them for snoring,
ti is true that its more easy to confront if person who snore is related to you, but if not its worst we really need for someone to confront him or her, or just do something so that we can't hear or we don't give attention when they snore, like listen to music, or sleep first before they do

Hi! Well my roomate for the past 3 years snore. What funny about it is that we placed the beds together so that the three of us could be closer (my roomates and I became great friends), so the sound is really louder. But I guess I got used to it. You can't really ask them not to snore cause we all know that's impossible. What I did was to just not think about it, what I told myself is that if I allowed myself to be affected by her snoring, it would just be too absorbed with her snoring and I could never fall asleep. Now, we just joke about her snoring, and I don't see it as an annoying thing. :)

I used to be a boarder at my old intermediate school , which means that I slept , ate and bathed on school grounds when I was at that school. I remember sleeping in this small room with 3 other guys. Every night , I slept well and I never got any complaints from the 2 other guys but the 3rd one said I snored. Of course I denied it. However from that first complaint out of him , he started throwing shoes at me during the night. . Sometimes , I would just wake up at 1am with a shoe right next to my head. LOl.
So , there's your solution :) Go throw a shoe at the snorer.

your are sometimes it is not enough to put something in your ears, I also tried that but I still hear his snore its really loud that every one in the room can here, and the next morning people talk about it, they can't sleep because of the snoring they heard, I thought I'm the only one who can't stand that loudly snore, I guest next time I will listen to music before I got to sleep or I will sleep first before they do.

Oh God, thank Him that it is just a camping for you. My sister snores so loud that when she gets hospitalized few months back, I have to watch her at nights, and I really can't sleep. Her snore was so loud that I really can't help but to wake her up so it stop. But then, she will again do it. Though in our house, she sleeps with my mom, so I don't suffer sleepless nights because of her. Hihihi. But my mom said that it is just a sort of getting used to. As for me, if someone is snoring, he/she must sleep alone, so as not to disturb other people. Also, if it is everyday, because sometimes we snore due to being so tired due to the activities we had performed for the day. If the snoring is not normal, one must seek medical attention immediately.
@xeroeight (1060)

you are right if the snoring is not normal that person really need a medical attention. because snoring is a sleep disorder, in your response I think I consider my self lucky to experience that once, unlike you you always experience it, luckily you also don't experience that sleepless night in your house, that is good because our body detoxify when we sleep if you don't get to sleep your body don't detox that much

that is good thing, you can ignore it I should try it also or do something like listen to music, but what if you are just a meter away from the person who snore so loud? can you still ignore it?

Good day to you xeroeight,
I am also facing almost the same situation. I have a room mate who snore so loud that it finds me difficult to get my sleep.
What I am doing is, I will drink a milk an hour before going to bed. Then, I will get my self tired in doing some internet browsing. Through that, I will feel very sleepy. So I will go to my bed and sleep.
With this procedure that I used to do, though my room mate snore so loud, the sound does not affect me at all.
I hope this will somehow give you an idea on how to get a good sleep though you hear snoring sound.
Happy Mylotting.

That would be the worse thing will happen to me if my room mates snores. I just could not sleep. I remember, we were in the same room with my brother. Man, he sure snores a lot. So there is nothing I can do because I keep telling him that he snores bad loud. He said he could not help it because I too snores a lot. O well, so I move in the living room for sleep. In that way, each of us can sleep well.

you both should consult a doctor because snoring is a sleep disorder, any way we are the same I also can't ignore the snoring thing its a good thing you can go to other place to sleep, when I encounter that situation there's no other place to sleep I really need to bare the noise of snoring.
