Hi my friends.Have you ever realized the Gap between the Rich and Poor?
As far as I am concerned, it is so obvious that the gap between students haves and have-nots on campus is widening and has become a hot issuse nowadays. While some students are reliant on goverment financial aid to fulfill their college, others have extra money from their parents to spend on rents and cars, luxury cosmetics and fashion. Some the gap has influenced their life a lot, but no some special can stop this I find.
What about you? Have you realized it now? Cann do some to stop it?

I think in every part of society there is going to be a gap between those individuals that have and those that don't have. One of the things that is done in our area is that my daughter's school does a uniform so that all of the kids are on the same page at school. They all wear polo shirts and khaki/navy/black bottoms. I think this is a great thing because the teachers can't so much see in the classroom which students have money and those that don't.

Hi, I honestly think that this gap will always exist because in society, it has always existed, be it a socialist government or a democratic society. The only difference between the two is that a socialist system would usually not provide opportunities to become wealthy, whereas in America, people do have such an opportunity, which can be shown through financial aid. Albeit, although the wealthy have a much greater opportunity, they do not have real life experience that may help them in the future. Many of the most wealthiest people did not always come from well-to-do neighborhoods, and many leaders that did so may not be great leaders today. So, if one has the drive, discipline and opportunity for education and take the most advantage of it, their circumstances should not be a hindrance to their future, which is the most important.

This is something that has been a problem forever. The gap will continue to exist because of certain attitudes that exist among certain members of the social ladder. I guess we could start by parents of the ones who have not just giving their kids whatever they want. Make them work for it. Maybe then they will see that money isn't something you just pull out of the air. Maybe they'll have an appreciation for how hard it is the earn money. Parents of poor children could stop blaming "the man" for their troubles and instead become more involved in their children's education and encourage them to go for college so that they will have a chance to obtain what the haves have.

the gap between the very rich and the very poor has always existed. What has happened in recent years in America is that the rich have gotten richer, and everybody else's financial stature has either stagnated or actually deteriorated. Wages have relatively stagnant for many years. As prices go up and wages do not, living standards drop. a curious fact of the enormous gap between those at the top and everybody else is the number of people who do not understand where they really are. A recent survey found that 20% of Americans believe they are in the top 1% in income, and another 19% believe they soon will be.
Government regulations are designed to protect those who are already wealthy. Many of the richest people in America are like the college students you mention: they inherited wealth rather than doing something to earn it.

Hi,there.Since both of us are Chinese,I think it's easy for us to realize the gap between rich and poor.I am a college student now and just like you said some students are reliant on goverment financial aid to fulfill their college, others have extra money from their parents to spend on rents and cars, luxury cosmetics and fashion.I don't think it will be disappeared someday ,I just hope it wouldn't be wider and wider in future.

They will be always gap between the rich and poor.Hard to stop this.in my country primary and secondary school students are required to wear uniforms. So there is no daily fashion show. Luxury goods like handphone , comestics , jewellery , fancy haircut and hair colors are not allow in those primary and secondary schools. So there is common and rich and poor are not well displayed.
however in college and university , things are different , there are only dress codes and conducts rules.Basiclly students are allow to express their feeling or statues by their language, clothers , accessories and such..notebooks , hps , cars to colleges , jewelleries and such.So they are daily fashion show in those campuses.
How to stop?.I guess if u r a parents one day , a rich parents u will equip your child with basic necessities , so i guess , to stop this , it should start from homes.
In campuses ,there is democratic freedom of self expression , hence dressing and such is one way of expressing oneself..We can stop it.
Hence i guess , we should not let this be a discouragement , but let be a lessons , we need to study correctly and work hard so that one day we can improve ourselves better. In campuses , beside rich accessories, i think the test scores, skills and altitute is more important.Hopely a person i recognize for their skills, altitude and ability to work hard rather then how much their parents are giving them stuffs.

Yes you're right there were a lot of things that causes gaps with each person in the community but we just have to decide if we want to have friends with the person which have a very different personality or different level in your life.I mean everybody is unique but you can definitely be a friend of everyone if you will just try to understand your differences.Well that is just my opinion.
