I'm just wondering why only the abuse (!) sign is present on my posts? have i violated any thing? it's only after posting my response to a couple discussions that i realized that only the abuse sign (!) is present on my posts. can anyone tell me why?

You have your answer, and I will only add that having that (!) will allow you to request that a post be deleted if, for example, you accidentally post it twice or you need it removed for another reason.

i also realized the obvious function of the (+) and (-) a few minutes after i've posted my question..what a waste of time not posting the right question, i thought, so i did not visit this discussion link until now. i really wanted to have the post deleted but i don't know how to do it either then (thanks to GardenGerty now i know how)..it wasn't really a waste of time then.

The + and - signs are used to rate a post or discussion as positive or negative, and you have the option of rsting someone's posts if you choose. However, you cannot rate your own, which would obviously defeat the whole object. No member will see the symbols next to their own posts.
