Do you feel that wearing glasses reduces your personality and beauty ?

That is what people of my country think 
. They say that that their looks and beauty are lowered when they wear glasses . So many people migrate from glasses to contact lenses . And especially during functions like party or marriage , they wear only contact lenses because they don't want themselves seen in glasses . They spend thousands of Rupees ( Indian Currency ) to buy contact lenses . All this drama only for that one day 
. This has become more like a social practice . People say that they feel diminished when they are wearing glasses 
.
[b]But I don't do that . Why do all this just to look good in a photo .
What do you feel about this practice ? Do you condemn it ? Share your experience ! [/b]

Hi,
You are right that many people think that due to glasses their beauty decreases.Not only in the india but all over the world.It is common thinking and hence they go for the contact lenses.They do spend a lot of money for that.
Very less people think like you.Actually,beauty lies inside.

Not at all as some times u look more intelligent with glasses and it is a matter of our eyes and not looks which matters more .So if some one has this complesx that he or she does not look good or so can use contact lenses.But i prefer glasses after certain age

I prefer wearing glasses because wearing contact lenses for a long time damages our cornea mildly and they are costly and difficult to maintain .

First of all, i really appreciate your effort to create such a good discussion. Well, everybody have their own point of view. But according to me, YES, i do feel that wearing glasses reduces the personality and beauty. Because there are some people who look more beautiful without glasses.

Hi, beachdune. Well when I was younger, I seemed to think that my glasses made me look very unattractive. When I took a look back at one of my pictures with my glasses on, I looked do dorky. I used to wear large framed glasses. And, it did not bring out my actual beauty. But that was so long ago.. I now wear my glasses with pride. Years ago wearing buig framed glasses made me look like someone else. Now. I wear smaller framed glasses, which define my beauty. I look so much better. I think that wearing certain glasses will make you look attractive with them on, rather than just taking them off..
A person can still look attractive with glasses on than when they are not on.

yes.my friends and classmates always talk to me that you not wearing glasses are more beautiful than you wearing it,so i worry about my eyes once in a while.
