I have not heard this news story about Wayne Rooney contemplating leaving Manchester United, it would be bi news. I shudder to think on how much the transfer fee would be for him to consider moving. Your right Man Utd are in debt but selling a player of Rooneys world class standard will not help their situation. I dont think anything will be decided until after the World Cup final which starts in a few weeks. If he plays football well in that, then the asking price will surely go up.
The one person I would like to see leave Old Trafford would be the manager Alex Ferguson, I feel he has done all he can and it's time for a fersh new man to take over control. I know he has helped to win many cups and leagues but nothing lasts forever.
I also think the American owners will leave soon as their hearts are not in the club.

I am sure Alex.F. will want to rebuild a new team for next season and bring back the glory days to Old Trafford before he retires. Whether the possibly new owners gives him the money or time will be another matter.
Out with the old and in with the new, that's what I say.

Hi abhikmjmdr,
As long as Alex Ferguson still in-charge at Manchester Uniter, I do not think Wayne Rooney would go anywhere. Everyone knew about the financial situation at Manchester United but it is not the reason for them to sell another core player in their team. I believe Alex Ferguson already learn his lesson when he sold Cristiano ROnaldo(to Real Madrid) and Carlos Tevez (to Manchester City).
This season, Manchester United rely solely on Wayne Rooney and without him, Manchester United seem to be unable to score a goal. Micheal Owen is a good player but his condition is not good. His is a very fragile player. He spend more time with doctors then with his team mate at the field. Dimitri Barbetov, on the other hand, is very unlucky player this season. His performance change for bad to worst and I believe Alex would sell him instead.

I heard that Barca plans to bid £80M for Rooney. That's a big amount. We lost Ronaldo and it did sort of weaken Man Utd's attacking power but it did bring out more of Rooney's play. I certainly hope he will not leave.
Nowadays, club loyalty is getting rarer and I'm not sure if Rooney will stay.

Absolutely, there is no doubt of it. Wayne is the best player United has, and replacing him is going to be a very hard thing to do.
Although it could be better if Wayne leaves, Manchester United could get lots of cash and also some player from Barcelona like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whose future with Barcelona has not been decided yet, and if Barca is looking for Rooney, there will not be space for Zlatan in the starters if you consider that David Villa and Rooney could join Messi in the attack. Wow! impressive squad up there! lol.
