though these shows are in name called reality shows, but according to me these shows are tailor made according to the audience that wathches them.some reality shows use the essence of vulgar language to get more trps.such shows, according to me, are hampering todays young generation's attitude and also their characters.i would like you, mylotters,to share your viws on the above mentioned topic. thanks.wish you the best day.

Well I don't think so.Agreed, that these shows might be all be pre-planned and there might be very less truth showed in them but again, they are a source of entertainment to a section of audience which like watching these shows. Why take it away from them? These shows might give them thrill, excitement or pleasure.Who are we to pass a judgment on the content that should be allowed to be aired? As long as there is a warning message before the start of the show that some elements of it could be fictitious and only mature audiences should watch it,I don't think there is a problem having these shows on the television.Let people have the freedom to decide what they want to see and what they want to block out.Right mate?

yup ,banning it outright is not correct. No one is forcing everyone to watch them.just off the tv or switch to another channels. Some people think it is entertainment to watch it because it is fake and it does cause human drama to surface.TV networks show these shows because they are demand for it.If not they will have gladly pull if off and show other things. Nevertheless i do agree nowsday tv shows are full of junks but saying that , people do like some junk foods once a while.

It is really entertaining, For me it should not be ban, but instead they should put more censorship into it.

I don't know about these 'reality shows' you speak of and no specific shows were listed so I really don't know of which you speak. Some are pretty silly. And, yes, I do agree they are tailor made for the people who end up watching them. As if someone in tvland knows what kind of junk the public wants to waste their time on. I have enjoyed each season of Survivor. I have also watched the reality show Bret Richards was in. It was about as dumb as I have seen. I have heard of the weight loser one and actually it might be good for some to watch. Just my opinion. I find the silly ones are actually interesting to see how people live in California and in their specific lifestyles. No, I don't think they should be banned. I think if parents are smart they will watch and see what the youth of today are seeing and take an interest. If they feel they are wrong for their children to see then they can do some in house banning.

I don't think reality shows show be banned. Certain people have certain tastes. Some people like watching reality shows, some don't like it. But if you ban them, certain people can't see their favorite genre. If you don't like it, just change the channel.

It depends on which kind of reality shows, although I do watch and enjoy quite a lot of them. My favourite shows are the ones where people have a talent like Strictly Come Dancing or Dancing With The Stars, The X-Factor, Britain's Got Talent and Dancing On Ice. Here, each person has a skill - skating, dancing, singing, etc. so these are good to watch and can be inspirational.

Not really !!!! but reality shows if at all goes like the name suggests, should be real. too much dramatizing and crying can be a test of patience. also reality shows should try and carry a social message and should not be impolite or rude to the participant , and should always be a source of encouragement. In case of children reality programmes, elders should not pressurize the child into over doing it.

I don't watch reality shows, but I think if someone's problem with reality shows is their affect on children, then I have a simple solution: don't let your kids watch them! Monitor your children's tv time. Don't let them have a tv in their room and have 1 family tv so you can see what they watch. When I was younger my parents would not let me watch Ren & Stimpy or Southpark. I used to sneak and watch it flipping between shows, but I didn't grow up any better or worse, and I watch Southpark now. Also, you should know your children. If they are gullible and if they like to re-enact things they see on tv (like the kids who tried to jump off of things and fly after watching Peter Pan) then you should probably monitor what they watch. I agree that reality shows are mostly crap, like I said I don't even watch them because there is nothing real about them, they are just called reality because it isn't a setup show, when it "Reality" they all really are. Now if they had a show about following around inner city children through their daily lives, THAT would be a reality show. If they followed a few homeless people through their daily lives, THAT would be reality. A show following around the middle to lower class in America would be reality. I think the only reality shows I ever watched and liked were Dog the Bounty Hunter, Mad Mad House, one where nerds were turned into smooth talking lady magnets lol and another one I just forgot. And even with all of its suspense music I still like Ghost Hunters, thats reality, its not always exciting but its real (and yes I know people debate that fact all the time).

Country who had had reality shows has the more numbers of talents.. I don't think it is a good idea that reality shows should be banned. According to me, having reality shows helps a lot especially for those young talentented people to show their talents to the public. To be discovered. To entertain us.

OMG, i don't mean to scream at you, but YES,THEY SHOULD BE BANNED! I realize to each it's own, but they all seem to be negative and degrading. Whatever happened to just regular ole tv, because i hate series too? There was a time when men would talk about us women doing nothing but watching soaps and stuff, but just about everything on tv now are soaps, including wrestling.
