School holidays are just around the corner, here where I live. As a parent I'm just as excited as my children. I don't have much plan this time because I've been busy with work. But I would see what they have in mind and take it from there. Whatever it is we will be enjoying them here.
Wherever you live, I'm sure school holidays are just as exciting. As a parent what do you normally do during your children's school holidays? Do you go on holidays as well or what?

I am going to let my older son choose a trip out for a day in the summer holidays. He will be doing work experience in a court house for the last day of term. So he will miss out on the school's day of fun. I think my son will choose to go on a steam train to the seaside. He might want to go to the swimming pool. I am planning a few days away camping with my two younger children. I have a disabled toddler son and a baby daughter. I am able to drive my car now because I passed my practical driving test earlier this year. I shall hopefully be going on my trip to Canada next month. The air fares are high enough then and are not affordable in the summer holidays. I will be taking my toddler son and baby daughter to Vancouver, Vancouver Island and the Rocky Mountains.

Giving a chance for your son to decide a trip out for a day in the summer holidays is one great idea he would love. Besides that would give him confidence and to take ownership of his choice eventually would build a positive self concept. I love camping too but not so much now unless I have all my medicines around. Camping nurtures independent living skills. Seems to me you have been a wonderful mom. Your kids would remember these for a long time. I wish you and your family all the luck with your trip to Canada, Vancouver Island and the Rocky Mountains. Great! Thanks for sharing.

we are a bit ahead of you for the school holidays, and it's actually going to end in 2 to 3 weeks from now. since the kids are still on holidays, they spent almost the first month in the province. they love to be there since our place is by the beach and they have a lot of time to enjoy the waters while they are in vacation.
