The Fourth Kind is a documentary style movie about alien abductions, often compared to Paranormal Activity. At the beginning of the film they tell you that some camera footage and all the audio files from the movie are real but if you do a little research you'll find out that it's all fake. Including the audio files. Takes away some magic from it. The movie isn't scary but the whole alien abduction theme is kinda creepy so it may just do it for you. Or not...
What do you think about the movie? Do you think that alien abductions really happen?
Which one do you like more: Fourth Kind or Paranormal Activity?

My girlfriend and I watched this prior to doing any research, we had our doubts throughout but were not sure. We both really enjoyed this film, it makes you think a bit. I've always been a huge fan of abduction movies, when I was much younger I saw Fire in the Sky and it freaked me out for a long time.

The Fourth Kind really freaked me out. Not sure if it was because of the old real footage they interspersed into the movie or not.

I was pretty annoyed with mixing the "real" footage with recreated one all the time. I thought it could be better if they just did it one way or the other...

I too have watched this movie. I didn't believe that it was from a real documentary but I thought that it might still be interesting. I thought that it was a fairly good movie, could have been better. I think that there are just too many people out there who believe what they are told is true. Like you I think that it is important to do your own research so that you don't let the wool get pulled over your eyes. I am studying to become a freelance writer, and as such it is very important for me to do my own research. Sometimes there is a little truth to the story, but for the most part, just cause it says that it is based on a true story, doesn't mean that it really is.

I agree. Better check the facts before drawing a conclusion. Just look at a local newspapers and you'll find a lot of bullsh!t.
It's just a movie and it supposed to be fun but when they say it's real it makes you wonder... I knew right away that some of it can't be real but I hoped that some footage is really authentic as they claimed. I was a little disappointed when I find out it isn't.

I think it is a fictional film. In the film, they are recording or documenting their session everytime. And everytime something weird is happening, the recording got distorted, and sheriff August don't believe in it. But on those film you can actually see those people levitating, even though the video is distorted, but still you can visualized what is happening, then why didn't they believe on it. If it happened for real, it will be the most disturbing alien abduction ever reported.
