Where is the kingdom of God? Is it a place or an attitude?

Why not both? We have been told its only a place unreachable in this life time but what if it is an attitude that leads to creating heaven on earth. With all that is wrong in the world today it seems as if we are being mislead to think that we should just put up with it and all the wrongs that go on instead of doing something to change the world. Too often I hear people say "that's just the way it is" I still believe that it only takes two people God and me to change this world. The kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17). It's not in a church it's not in a land we think is holy and it's not in a government. It's in people each and every one of us has the opportunity to do our part to change the world.

Hi EvanHunter, The kingdom of God is just a phrase that refers a higher level of thinking. In Biblical times it was the only way to express it for people to understand. It is within us because we have the ability to bring it about. Every time we show compassion, every time we forgive someone wholly and completely, we move a little closer to this 'kingdom of God'. When I see hundreds of people voluntarily searching for a lost child, I know that we are moving a little closer to this reality. Let's all reach out to someone who needs help today. Blessings.

In response I will quote from Carl Sagan: " It is far better to grasp the universe as it truly is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring." Regards.

People come up with different interpretations but I think its strongly spiritual. Many religions speak about the heart, that God lives in the heart of the people and if you want to find God, search for him there. If you believe in destiny, you should be sure that we can try our best and somethings may be changed but its out destiny. Its like a horse, tied with a rope 500 meter long. Now the horse may consider himself to be free but actually, it has a freedom of Radius 500m. :)

the kingdom of God is basically his rule or reign. yes it is already here but its entirety is yer to come. the kingdom of God is in you and we are his instruments so that his rule or reign will gain territory. the question is how? through the implementation of his values or principles in our schools, offices, or wherever God will place us.

The Kingdom of God is a level we can reach in our personal relationship with God and Jesus. Your attitude has everything to do with you ever being able to reach that level. Without the right attitude and a willingness to allow God to guide your life to the point it should be you will never enter the Kingdom od God. It requires the Anointing of the Holy Spirit where God will be able to personally teach and guide you. Art

Luke 17:20-21 (King James Version) 20And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:20-21 (Darby Translation) 20And having been asked by the Pharisees, When is the kingdom of God coming? he answered them and said, The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21nor shall they say, Lo here, or, Lo there; for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you. _________________________________________________________ Notice, there are two different ways that the verse has been translated. Was the kingdom within the Pharisees that asked that question? Or was the kingdom in their midst because Jesus, the future king of God's kingdom was among them? If the kingdom of God was an attitude within one's heart, then why did Jesus in Luke 21 show that the kingdom of God was yet in the future? And that they should look for signs that would show its nearness? Luke 21:31 (King James Version) 31So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. So then, what is the kingdom of God? It is a government with Jesus as king. Luke 21 describes all the different signs that we would see so that we could discern when the kingdom was near or ready to replace all earthly governments. Many believe that we are near the time when this will happen. Daniel 2:44 (King James Version) 44And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Everyone carries a different view. By having so many different views, God guaranties mankind a larger picture than any one person can have. Interaction is the key. We change the world each and every time we interact with someone else. Share that which is special about you with someone today. You make a difference in the world everytime you do. Don't let a little thing like drama keep you from this for that is where the greatest learning takes place.

Why does a "God" need you at all. A "God" would be able to change the world by itself wouldn't it ?
