Unfair MYlot star system.

I haven't been on Mylot for the past week because I've been busy in real life with examinations. However , I just logged into mylot this morning I noticed that my star beside my name is not yellow anymore. I went DOWN a star rating !! Does MYlot decrease your rating if you don't log in for a while? That's so unfair . People have commitments in real life , so they can't be using MYLOT 24/7.

this star system depends upon our earnings.. when you will not log in.. that means you will not gonna earn any thing.. and in result.. your rating will decrease..

Well that's unfair. We earned those star ratings , so why should we lose it just because we haven't been on MYlot as much. Some of us have to do things in real life...

Is that why you started a new account?

Must be the reason why you have a new account since you have to have over 100 posts to see the star.

cynicalstephen no mylot does not do a darned thing to your ratings do not you ever read all the information about stars and ratings and other things. we mylotters rate each other and our ratings go up and down according to how many mylotters rated positive or negative. My lot admins does not have a darned thing to do with the rating, and that is all explained in the guidelines, the rules, and the questions and answers, if you had not been lazy and read the questions and answers you would know that the only people who rate you are your fellow mylotters.a s this discussion broke the rule about discussions asking questions that mylot admins already have answered in the questions and answers so your discussion will be deleted as it broke that rule and also the rule about not making a discussion over any issue you have against mylot admins. for heavens sakes to save yourself from losing points and earnings read the my lot information.

Not real sure how the star system worked...I wish they paid according to it tho, the lower the rating the lower the pay...it would keep mylotters more interested in how they are doing.
I was gone for a few months but I still have my star and a rating of 10.

I believe ALL mylotters, most specially newbies should start reading the faq and guidelines so that there won't be less time blaming on the admin and instead check if you have fought with some one or just found yourself to be a victim of a troll

It has nothing to do with you being gone,in fact the only way at all that it can go down from what I have been told is if someone rated you negative, maybe someone didn't care for a comment that you posted, or most anything one never knows what goes through peoples heads but you are just a hair below making your next star color so don't worry about it, 1 or 2 points makes very little difference.

It doesnt decrease your earnings at all!
Its only on how many + ratings you get, if you get a - your star rating goes down...
trust I had a 8, and now as you can see I have an 6 which sucks, dont put anything negative on the posts because people will rate it a -, always put positive things.
I wish I can have atleast an 8, Ill be really happy!
Dont stop rating +'s!

yes, I fully agree with you Cynicalstephen, star rating should be based on quality of discussions and not on your regular visits to the site.

well, i think your star reputation will not changed its color when you are not logged in for days. I havent been on my lot for a week and my star is still the same. I will agree with what others said that its how others rate you.

As far as I know you don't lose money or star ratings just for not logging in for a month or so. I had a very busy few months in my life where I didn't visit Mylot at all and when I came back I don't recall having that problem? I could be wrong though! Maybe something has changed, not 100% sure - sorry about that! From what I know star ratings are just based on how people rate your discussions/responses. I'm not a huge fan of the Mylot star rating because I feel like it's too easy for people to just rate you low if you didn't really do anything wrong. Plus I feel that you should be able to speak your opinion here without worrying about someone giving you a negative rating. Just my thoughts!

Hello cynical,
it's either that you're discussion is a violation and got deleted or some one has been busy rating your comments, responses or discussions negative that lead you to this. ADmin has nothing to do with it.
even though the rating had been limited some one is still pulling you down, must had some one disagreed with in your past postings.

Its not because of your earning, I can assure you. Its how the other people rate you. I had a red start then a user gave me a negative ratings because i disagreed with what he said and it drop me to a yellow star. But I still see it to be unfair.

Your star rating is directly connected to your overall ranking. People can rate you without you being around. the more negitive ratings you get the lower your rating. SInce you hadn't been active enough, people who came across your discussions, must have been grater then those who rated you positivly. The more positive ratings you get the higher your star rating is.

Well that simply mean that Mylot is rating us on our reputation depending on how often we go online. So we should be once in a while go online to maintain that reputation.

I have had to be off here for over a week once and to be honest my star never changed neither did anything else like the earnings.Perhaps every now and again it changes for other reasons. There are alot of people on here so i do not think that they would waste alot of time looking for people that have not been on here for a while where as they have peoples discussions to look at.

The way it should be viewed is that, in a way, mylot really is a job. When you don't show up for work...especially not for a long time, you're going to take a hit in your performance review and that can often times mean a hit in your pay. It sucks if it happens to you, but it's part of the business.
