Many herbal drug ads around us. For slimming, gout, ulcers, and even tuberculosis. Almost always followed by a natural supplement without side effects. It really safe to consume?

Herbal preparations are definitely unsafe for gout. To treat gout properly, you must lower uric acid to safe levels. There is no evidence that herbal supplements can do this. There is, however, plenty of evidence to prove that untreated high uric acid leads to permanent bone erosion and kidney disease. There is also evidence to suggest that stroke and heart disease risks are increased if uric acid is high.

Some are, some aren't. It is best to ask a doctor that specializes in natural remedies.

It is really smart to do your homework! How long has it been on the market? Do some research and see what you come up with.

I think herbs are not safe for regular consumption. They are medicines and should be used rarely and under medical supervision. Hippocrates, the father of medicine said 'let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food.' A much better way to go!

When you choose to use herbal medicine, you have to make sure that medicine is registered in local authority. For example, in Indonesia we have BPPOM to verify food and medicine that distrubuted in Indonesia. If you can't find registration number on the pack or bottle, don't take any risk to consume the medicine. For herbal medicine, health supplement I only use product of K-Link. K-Link is international company. Their product have been registered in BPPOM. I usualy use K-link chlorophyll and Propolis Platinum.

Yeah I hear there are so many herbal medicine in the market that claim can cure certain disease. I don't take it all as true claims, I think its need standardization and safe extraction to keep the medical effect on the top. I recently try sarang semut from Irian jaya to help me feel in shape, its work for me.

well it really depends on the product. mostly turn out to be scam though. an obvious example would be all diet pills from scratch!besides if the herbal thing really works, why not eating the natural ones and getting their synthetic form?
