Hey friends, I firmly believe we are here in this world for a purpose. Sooner or later we realize that purpose and then start working on it. A couple of days back I went to a temple where I met a saint . He is a young man and a very charismatic personality. We had a conversation for say 30 mins or so and I'm deeply moved by his words. He said that doing social work or doing something for the needy and the poor is the best way to please god. In our culture we offer sweets and money to god whenever we visit a temple or a religious place and he said instead, it should be given to the poor and the people who really need it. I always wanted to be a part of such an organization and they gave me the opportunity to work with them every Sunday for few hours. I feel blessed and I'm extremely happy :) So friends i wanted to know what kind of Social work are you involved with. Also give me fresh ideas which i can suggest and can implement for the benefit of people of weaker sections. Cheers, Tutul

Hi tutul, that saint seems to be a level headed person. Most of the others that you come across are trying to fleece money out of you on some pretext or the other. One can do charity work even at home by being helpful and good to ones maids and those who work for us and any poor relative by helping them out in their time of need. I do help out when I am able to do so...all the best in all your endeavors and happy mylotting

Hi tutul I was a part of an NGO in Surat before my wedding. Now, this organization which is still active feeds 200 poor children daily. conducts free of cost computer courses for the needy. Provides 0% interest loan for MBA. and much more. We had also conducted many proffessional courses for the needy free of cost or charged a very nominal fee.. Me and my friend provide monthly ration to an old poor couple. I would love to do more and would like to know where and for what are you working. Thanks
