I'm into my late forties. Its a period in your life when there are unfulfilled desires like travelling to places which have caught your fancy. At the same time children have to be provided better education and several other necessities for their all round development. We have to invest wisely to make our twilight years better. All these require a lot of finance.Hence i would say earning more is the motivating factor for me.Though i would dearly love to buy and read books which i haven't got my hands on so far.Being a bit overweight reducing weight and keeping better health is also a priority. As regards your priorities are concerned if you are young or have a desire to learn please pursue a course which enhances your qualification or interests you.If you wish to work do by all means and choose that profession which gives you satisfaction.Work hard so that you can achieve more.If you are on the heavier side like me exercise to reduce weight as it will be helpful to you in the long run.

Thanks for your response picjim. Glad to know that you are motivated to give your children a good education and you are aiming for a good life. Your children is lucky to have a dad like you. I think that money is not your motivator. Your family is the one that motivates you. Do your best picjim, I know you can do it.

Thanks for your encouraging words.Your faith in me makes me prepared to face all The difficulties i might encounter on the way.You are clever and have gauged with accuracy what exactly motivates me.I think i would have achieved a lot if i'm half as good as you make me out to be.

progress tward goals can be a good motivator..., embarassment because you didn't accomplish something can be amotivator, most people are motivated by money or vacation trips.
Though I know little motivates my kids as my Aunt keeps telling them if they clean their room she'll take them to Chuck E. Cheese's but they won't touch it... they want me to "help" wich means I get to do it all and they help when they feel like it. *sigh*

Rewards and money are great motivators haha! I will add that to my list. By the way your kids must help in cleaning too so they will enjoy Chuck E.!

I know they love going there. I just think like me they get overwhelmed with the task. BUT when I ask what toys can we donate to make more room, in their room.... I get this blank look & a comment of "you can build onto the house right?"

If they help you the task will be easier. I like your favorite comeback, can I borrow it so I can say that to my kids too? haha

In actual fact, Motivation is missing in my life, in my work and everywhere.
But I think come by diferent ways in different conditions.
Like in work, appraisal, good words from manager infront of team and promotion.
For Studies, I started get interest in that, or teacher is good.
In loosing weight, if evrybody will start you calling faaty guys, automatically motivation will come.

thanks for the reply saurabh, too bad you are missing something important. Well I think you can still be motivated especially when a certain event occurred like getting your love ones or something like that.

To tell the truth, it is my son who motivates me in many things. I have been very reluctant to learn few things in life like driving etc..But it was my son who encouraged me to learn drving. I just love the way he motivates me..

We are the same cip, I will only be 100% motivated when I'm happy in what I am doing. There are time that I'm not motivated in working because I'm not happy in our workplace. So being happy is what motivates you. Thanks for that cip116

For me, if its about study, my motivation is to make my parents and relatives proud, just the idea of them praising me because of my dedications in my studies can help me be motivated. And losing weight or gaining muscles, well probably the idea of hot chicks looking at you and staring on your muscles, keeps me motivated and helps me be more dedicated in my workouts
