The Boston Celtics was impressive, spectacular and too good for the Orlando Magic as the C's won handily over the Magic, 94-71. The Magic has one thing in mind before the start of the game, winning game 3. They give it all what they got but the Celtics wanted more, outhustling the Magic from start to finish. The C's are 4 quarters away from the 2010 NBA Finals.

really surprised how this series is being played. i thought that the celtics spent much of their mojo in their previous series against the heat and the cavs and they simply wither down against orlando but surprise, surprise it is the other way around. the magic, who have coasted the first two rounds with 4-0 sweeps are the ones getting out hustled by the older and aging celtics team.
anyway, hard to see how the magic get back into this series. their body language last game clearly showed that they've raised the white flag and given up winning this one.
we might be seeing a repeat of the lakers-celtics match-up from two years back.

the repeat fo the lakers-celtics showdown is ok since this year's scenario, if it plays out, will be slightly different. lakers will have home court advantage, the lakers have a healthy bynum and can put artest to pester pierce. for sure it would definitely be a good series but just wanted to see different teams play in june.
no opinion yet on what the outcome will be if these two teams meet but looking at kobe to lead the lakers against bosotn this time around. revenge angle plays a big motivation in my opinion.

I agree you. Before the series began,I never thought the Magic would have such a disappointing performance cause they did such a good job in the first two series.Anyway,a repeat of the lakers-celtics match-up from two years back is OK too.

I've watched the van gundy interview. He really looks sad about the loss. And it's a surprise orlando shooters missing 3's like that. I've always known them to be great shooters. There's still chance to win the series though but it's not that big.

The defense of the post by Perkins on Howard was the telling factor of the game because there were no double teams in the post and the outside shooters of Orlando were contested in every attempt. And the hustle plays that the Celtics showed keep the Orlando Magic at bay. The Magic will have a chance to come back in this series but they have to win 4 straight games. I think that this is a difficult tasks but possible if they can outplay the Celtics in the next game.

I honestly can't see the Magic being able to win game 4 unless the Celtics don't even show up.
There is nothing the Magic can do. They are who they are. Their game plan is to let Howard draw doubles so their shooters can get out in space. That's what the entire game is based on, and it's just not available to them.
The only way they can win is to shut down Rondo and keep a hand in Pierce's face at all times and hope he stays off the line.
But that leaves KG available to go off, and Ray Allen still hasn't had a "playoff" game yet.
The Magic are pretty much forced into one-on-one matchups, whereas the Boston Celtics actually choose to play the Magic one-on-one. That's the biggest difference -- the Celtics have options and the Magic do not.

i beg to disagree here with you matersfish.
orlando magic has a lot of options offensively. aside form howard whom they can post in the paint, they have lewis, carter, and nelson that can provide the spark offensively. it just so happened that the shots for the magic shooters are not falling.
anyway, not taking anything away from boston. they deserve to be in this position because they play the game with heart 100% of the time. sadly, the same can't be said about orlando.

The "Aging team" seems to have found a new source of energy. Now they are one win away from the NBA finals and a chance to increase and cement the no. 1 spot for the teams that has the most number of NBA titles. The will also have an advantage if they close this series earlier since the Suns and Lakers clash are on a 2-1 standingin favor of the Lakers.

The Celtics have run through the NBA Playoffs this year en route to what will eventually become one of the most dominating post-season performances of all time.
Defeating the Miami Heat in five wasn't impressive at first glance. But to look again, seeing that Boston was able to both come from behind and play out in front, it took literal heroics from Dwayne Wade and a poor performance from the Celtics' big-four in order for the Heat to even scrape by with a single win.
Against Clevaland, the talk was about LeBron James - and maybe rightfully so. But what most fail to realize is that Boston stole the thunder from the best team in teh NBA, they knocked the wind out of LeBron by frustrating his jumpshot and clogging his lanes. After the superstar on the court was deflated, the rest of the Cavs followed suit. James didn't quit, he just couldn't play vs. the swarm.
We're seeing the same thing with the Orlando Magic. Orlando is a team that relies solely on their ability to draw defense into the paint so wingmen can fly around the arc and fire up three-pointers.
Boston completely shut this down by daring Dwight Howard to beat any one of three Boston Celtic big mean one-on-one. Dwight is exposed as a one-trick-pony (defense), and the remaining Magic members are subsequently exposed as streaky shooters with no competitive will once the chips are down.
It's certainly not over yet. If things hold true to form, Boston will be visiting the Lakers in a few short days. But win or lose, Boston has collectively been a heart-stealing team.
Three of the league's biggest stars and the two overall best teams in the NBA could not even come close to competing with the Celtics (save Clevand's game 3 performance when the Celtics were asleep). Their defense is annoying, fast and constant. They're not afraid to foul, flop or falter, and that has enabled the roster to play better all-around team basketball than '08 when they won the championship.
And can anybody say "Rondo"!?
The Lakers may be too big for the same type of defense. Wallace will have to handle Gasol, most likely, and KG will have to once again sacrifice his offensive luster to give more on the defensive end. But it is the series eveyrone wants to see.
LA is full up with talent, but their heart and will is suspect at times. Boston is full up with vets who meld and play together better than any team in the playoffs.
I like Boston in six vs. the Lakers, but I won't be the least bit surprised no matter how it turns out.

when you see rondo jumping for the ball then it is all over, the celtics win because they wanted it more. The finals will be exciting

The Boston Celtics have been outstanding in this series, I can see nothing other than a Lakers v Celtics matchup in the NBA Finals now. I can't wait.

Depending on the outcome in game 3 of the series between the Lakers and the Suns. If the Lakers will win game 3 , it will be a Lakers-Celtics finals series again. This matchup will again be a history in the making.
