When we talk of resume, Its usually concise background information about yourself, however when a company ask for a CV, you should add details, fro example, in a resume-- you say Former Administrative Assistant ABC Corp. in a CV you will write 1990-1997 Administrative Assistant ABC Gorp, responsible for data gathering on and over resources pertaining to plant production, my duties include interpret these data for higher management and import strategies to facilitate efficiency and management of resources.( a CV is presented via paperwork and submitted with a corresponding CD.

I'm not at all familiar with a Curriculum Vitae, but I am quite familiar with a resume, so I will explain exactly what a resume is and then you will probably be able to figure out what the differences are.
In a resume you do talk about yourself to an extent, but a resume isn't really about that. Your resume is mostly to explain your work history and to tell what skills you have acquired through your previous work history. Additionally, you do make a brief reference to your schooling, but it is only brief.

I think that both a CV and a Resume practically both mean the same thing. A cv is simply info about ourselves which includes your qualifications, awards credentials and very important things about yourself. And to the best of my understanding I think a Resume means basically the same thing.
