What do you think of Disney Cruises for Teenagers?

HI,
Has anyone booked their summer vacations yet? We are planning to go to Universal Studios Florida but I haven't gotten around to booking it yet. I think I'm a little bored of it. We have gone the last 3 years straight. I have been thinking of booking a cruise instead. I have 2 17 year old twin stepsons and 2 daughters 7 and 4. The last cruise we took was on Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas and every one loved it. I was thinking about booking a Disney Cruise but I'm not sure if the boys are too old. Any advice?
Thanks!

tonyllenium, I never gave the Disney Cruise Line too much though either. You just hear so much about Carnival and RC. Then I thought the little kids would love it but I really don't want to torture the boys (although they have no trouble torturing me!) :)

I've personally haven't been on a Disney Cruise but I have looked at it for a summer getaway. They do have a lot of things for every age group. According to what I've read, Disney tried to take account of what every age group would want on a cruise ship. Teens even have their own hangout area on the Disney cruise so they can meet and mingle others their own age. I think it would be a good idea. Whatever you decide, hopefully you have a good summer vacation.

Thanks vjenkins86! I forgot about the teen hangout spot and after all they do have each other so it's easier on them then the teens who have to go it alone.
Hope you have a great summer too!

Ask them. They might object that they're too old. Personally, I went through a phase where I insisted I was too old for Disney. But I was like 12-14. About the time I turned 15, I realized I still loved my Disney Movies and Disney World. Now, at 19, I insist that you're never too old to be an inner kid and the best movies are the kind that you enjoy at any age. Of course, I'm a girl. Boys might have a different opinion. Ask them if they think they're too old. I recommend going anyway though, it'll probably be great fun!

allyoftherain, Thank you. Good advice. As a 19 year old do you think your more reasonable then you were at 17? Just wondering what I should expect over the next coming years. Aiden and Ryan are good kids but they do have there moments. :)

Honestly, no matter the age I'm sure on a cruise they'll be able to find some means of entertaining themselves if you do end up going with the cruise. Every cruise that I have been on has had activities or things for people of all varying ages to do so I don't imagine you'll have much difficulty on this. Especially if it's a disney cruise.

Jaluke, Thanks for the response. I was pretty much thinking the same thing. They liked every cruise we've ever done and I hear a lot of good things about Disney. Just can't imagine another summer baking at Universal Studios.
Thanks for the input!

wow, amazing .. so you can vacation with a cruise ship. I've never done that. however, a vacation to Disney Cruises also seemed nice. but unfortunately, because I never go there

peterbobbs, You should! We've been on RC, Carnival and Princess Cruise Lines. They are all beautiful and there is so much to do. I think you would really enjoy it.
Take Care
