work, work, work. do we work to live or do we live to work? so much for a lot of stressors at work. so much with responsibilities at home. it sounds offending (i apologize) but this is true. but i only wish to know how you manage to deload yourself from stress.

Considering I work in a stressful environment, I need to unwind all the time, even while I am still at work. I Walk. If I can't get out to do that at work, I turn on music. Nothing to hip hop and nothing to slow. On my way home, I will listen to some moore upbeat music and remind myself I made it through those last 9 hours. When I get home, like another responder mentioned, I am not stressed anymore. I go for another walk when I get home and breathe. Then I am on the computer catching up on my email, facebook and then mylot. Finding interesting discussion and responding relaxes me, and/or finding a kind post to one of my discussions. Now before I go to bed I must read my book for about an hour. No music, no TV, just my book and my cat lying beside me. I tend to sleep better, or maybe I am in such a rut with routine that my body knows what to do, hahahahaha.

I live just four miles from the beach. I like to go to a sandy beach with a rural feel to it. I can walk across the sand dunes and look at the picturesque sea views. I love it when I can walk along the headland and see spectacular sea views. I am able to see two little islands just off the coast. I also enjoy going to a well to do coastal village that has a lovely view over to another headland. Walking along that headland there is a view of the town and along a sandy coastline. Being at the sea I can unwind and totally relax. At home I find it very relaxing and calming to have a warm bath with some lavender oil in it. I love to read a novel and it can take to to a different place. I enjoy reading travel books and planning future trips. This year I shall be visiting Canada. I don't want to read about my destination since the airline have been having strikes. I will only believe I am going once the plane departs. I think that people work to live. One year I had a very stressful meeting to go to on a Monday night. Cycling home from work lets me unwind and feel calm before reaching my house. If work is very stressful it helps to have a trip overseas to look forward to.

I guess you unwind by doing things that you enjoy most . For me walking the beach is calming and relaxing. Sometimes doing work is destressing to me, like working in the garden or yard . Going on the computer at can also be relaxing ..

When I'm home I don't really feel stressed at all because as much as possible I try my best to make my home the perfect place to relax and unwind. Of course, we cannot avoid having problems at home sometimes but there are ways to talk it over. There are no perfect relationship nor perfect home or family, but the home should be the perfect place to release stress.
