Relax? What do you mean relax, I am relaxing, isn't cleaning relaxing?

Okay, I am the type of person that always has to be doing something, I can't sit still, even when I am enjoying a movie with my husband I am busy doing a craft, it could be crocheting or sitting with my laptop and working on a new article, or playing here on mylot. I honestly, don't really stop unless I am sleeping. I enjoy the fact that I can always find something that will keep me busy. But, I must admit, it can be annoying when I start to fidget because I get bored so easily. Do you have trouble sitting still? How do you relax?

you have reminded me of a story.. about the famous PICASSO. There were many visitors to him, when he was doing his famous painting work.. after some hours of serious painting, he covered the canvas, and said.. enough for this day. I have to relax. And, he opened the cover of another canvas..and is supposed to have started painting that. one is his job. the other is his relaxation. 0--cheers.

oh. you were worried about the model? ... I was trying to focus on the famous PICASSO. .. see how the view changes from person to person. cheers. you seem to be more humane, and more intelligent. I accept defeat.

Picasso had a good idea there. I am sure the model appreciated the time to relax. It must be difficult staying in one pose for so many hours. Just think of how stiff the joints must be after having to sit there while he made a puzzle piece out of you. HA

Yeah some people just find different things relaxing. I am able to just sit down and watch a movie or listen to music for example. My mom however more often than not always has to be doing something around the house. It's very rare that she actually does sit down and just chill for awhile because her form of relaxing I guess is keeping busy...if that makes sense?

It does make sense. I will put in a movie, swear I am going to sit and watch, the next thing I know, I am up and doing something, while everyone else is watching the movie with me, are actually doing just that, watching.

We all find relaxation on different terms. Relaxing doesn't mean the same things to everyone. Some of us have tranquil ways of relaxing. A soothing bubble bath or a good book to read may be all it takes. others need a little more energy and life to their methods of relaxing. Cleaning the house may be the most relaxing moment for some. Relaxing for me is kicking back and watching Bon Jovi videos. I can deal with that.

You are correct sender, we all do define relaxation in many different ways, it is amazing how different each of us are or how each of us are the same. I must admit, today, now that all the family has left to return to their respective homes in different states. I can once again, attempt to settle and such. I actually took a nap a little while ago. Never realized how tired I really was.

That's cool. I can't even just sit and watch television, I have to keep my hands busy. Not sure why, it is like I have this quest deep down inside of me to constantly multi-task.

I am the same. I will sit down with hubby to watch a film, then I'll get up to put the washing out, then a few minutes later I'll get up to make a cup of tea, then I'll feed the dog or do some washing up ... and Hubby has to tell me to sit down!!

Glad to read that I'm not the only one that fidgets. Tried watching a movie the other night, kept telling myself that I was just going to sit and not do anything. But, alas, I found something to do once again.

you remind me when people say not to contradict first in my mind what they're saying. i have the habit of frowning when i think and they're thinking that i have the opposite in my mind of what they're saying. anyway, as they say, different strokes for different folks. cleaning may be relaxing for you but not to others. same way as i love manually washing the dishes while others find this the most hated part of house cleaning.

How funny, if I am really stressed, I will hand wash the dishes, I find that scrubbing away all the grime off of the pots and pans can really relieve a great deal of stress. :) When I clean, or do anything other than just sitting still, I find that my mind works a lot better and for my writing that is a good thing. I can come up with a lot more creative ideas for articles and such.

I like to stay busy also. I try to find things to do outside the ordinary. I try to find that inner peace to just sit still and the only way I can do that is to read my book. But, moreover, once I have done my tasks I can't find other things to do, so trying to find something is a challenge. I like challenges and that is why I think I have a hard time staying still.

Glad to see that I am not the only one. I must admit, if I can crawl into a good book, then I do actually let my body relax. Otherwise, the only other time that will happen is when I am sick. Then I do seem to stop at least a little bit.

Lately, most of my reading has been research for articles or discussions here on mylot. Although, I have been doing some reading for Mechanical Turk, I am currently reviewing websites right now.
