Is myLot.com a Pioneer in "Get Paid to Post" in Forums?

Hi guys, I've been with myLot for over two months now and I've also been to many "paid to post" forums before and by far, myLot is the longest-running successful paid posting forum website that I know of. I have learned that it started in Mid-2006 and by December of that year, it registered over 50,000 members already.
What I would like to know is:
IS MYLOT.COM THE FIRST TO OFFER PAID POSTING IN FORUMS? OR, is there any other paid forum posting website that came before mylot?
I'm doing some background research on mylot for a website. I hope someone can share what they know esp. the early history of mylot.

Hi Balasri, Over the years, Mylot was able to established a reputation of being a website that truly pays. But I know it's not the only forum that really pays. Nowadays, forum posting has been a regular job for others because there are a number of website owners willing to pay others to populate their forums with posts. But it's on a temporary basis most of the time. ^_^

I don't know about it being a pioneer site, but from what I see, mylot has been around for 4 years and running, I think. During it's beginning years, there weren't many ptp forums around.. so I'm guessing, it's amongst a few pioneer sites, if there are such. Not sure about other ptp sites though, as I've been on mylot so far only.

Yeah, and that's the reason that got me thinking that mylot might be the first site to offer this kind of setup. ^_^

MyLot is unique.
It is not a paid-to-post site.
We earn for discussing here and I am not aware of any other site that pays to do that. If you are aware of the FAQS you will have seen this:

Use myLot, post discussions, respond to discussions, comment on discussions, or perform searches.
Post quality content. For example, generate discussions that engage other users and provide insightful responses and comments to other users discussions to further the topic "[/i]

Hello eppie,
Mylot started in 2005. i know because i have seen users who responded and i checked they're profile, am surprised that there's some members who joined back in 2005. if that's the case, that means mylot started in 2005, with only a few thousand members, and it boomed in 2006, because of the oldies that we see now
. I am seeing returnees since they joined back in 2006

Wow LetranKnight25, thanks for that info. Actually I got the 2006 from old blogs of mylot members who recently joined at that time so I have a feeling that mylot may have started earlier than June 2006. So I should've been looking at mylot members' profile instead of searching in old discussions.
I am in the process of writing a short background history about mylot for a client's website and I need to get real facts so thank you very much. Arriba! LetranKnight25! (^_^)

Correct me if I am wrong but as far as I know mylot is not a PTP site we are paid here for participating in discussions and giving quality answers. Try to contact the admin of mylot for sure you can get 100% true answer on when they started.

Hi Nancy0618, I agree that technically, mylot is not a PTP site anymore, but I'm quite sure they started out that way. Still, they are commonly referred to as a PTP site. ^_^
