When your faith is being humiliated? When someone criticizes your faith, your God or the way you religiously view a matter? Even if you are an atheist, and people ridicule you for being so, how do you react? How tolerant are you? Do u get back to them immediately with a reply or a comment or get angry and overreact? Do You go to any extreme violence? As far as I am concerned, even I was among those who would overreact and definitely reply, but I slowly began to get a grip. I mean what people ridicule is my faith, The God I believe in, but the fact remains, When God himself is so tolerant and isn't quick in punishment and bears all things, we should try and imitate him. Thus, I learned to slow down my temper and wear silence as my weapon. How about you?

Well I might get a bit tempered and start a small, light argument but definitely I won't express my thoughts with my fist. That's because I don't believe in forcing others to have the same kind of opinion as I do rather I believe we each make up our own mind and pay our responsibility to our own actions.

We all were created with a free will, so our Creator does not force us to obey him. If we try to do his will, it is because we love him.
For me it has taken some time to learn this. When I was young, I could have hot discussions with those who thought differently.
But during the years I have been taught how to treat people. We have to respect them even if they have opinions that sound foolish in our ears.
They might change their mind if they get more information and experience, but if they don´t, we still have to respect their choice.
It was a big relief to learn that. We can only do our best to inform them and then they decide for themselves. This is especially important to remember when we visit people in our volunteer work to offer them a free Bible study. They have the right to know what God´s purpose is and get answers to their questions about many things, but they have to decide if they want to follow what they learn or not..

Yeah! I absolutely think the same way..every1 has the right to know the truth.. following or not is their personal decision. Facing ridicule requires guidance.

It is good to become imitators of God. Since, as you point out, He is very tolerant than we must learn to do the same. So I'm trying to be more and more tolerant. And hopefully our good example will rub off on others.

Well, one being tolerant or not is entirely a characteristic of a personality. If you were very short tempered earlier and have now learnt to be more in control of situations its a virtue you have learnt.
And you have learnt it by thinking of God so I believe its gonna stay with you forever.
As far as I am concerned I am not pushed to the edge very easily. I believe in every religion. I have been taught that every religion is as true as any other religion. It is only that people love to call God by different names which they like.
The destination is only ONE. The paths to reach the place maybe different.
Recently, it so happened that i met some people who said that their religion was only true and they believe that none else exist. Now, the formation of their own religion is about a 150 years old. I was amusing myself over the fact, are they trying to tell that God wasn't there before 150 years. That means my great grandfather was in an era without God.
I chose not to argue with the gentleman.

Control your feelings Good. However keep THINKING. God gave everyone a different view, By doing this God gives us a larger view than any one person can have.Interaction is key to learning. Don't run from drama because that is usually where the most learning takes place. The answer is to interact.Perhaps after putting your anger aside, you can discover something. Never forget to share that which is special about you as well.

If ppl want to critcize my personal path thats fine....I dont expect everyone to understand nor agree with it..Its MY PERSONAL path so NOBODY fully gets it ya know....HOWEVER if negative comments are thrown my way in a rude and hateful manner then I WILL take that person down a notch or two but not because they disagree with my ways or beliefs but because of HOW they went about it...

keep_onwatch,
To each and his/her own here.
Sometimes, I just wonder why is it so important about arguing what is wrong or put up what is good about one's beliefs or others' shortcomings when we should try to be good themselves.
If one is a Christian, be a good Christian. If one is an Atheist, then be a good Atheist. If one is a Muslim, then be a good Muslim. If one is a Hindu, then be a good Hindu.
I say, stop pointing fingers and bicker with differences when such energy can be put to good use to the the needful and even to our real life neighbors. I just don't understand why people would want to stir up a hornets nest and bring so much pain around when they can do small and simple things to bring love and joy to everyone.

Hi keep_onwatch, I don't expect people to accept my personal beliefs but there is no need for someone to be rude. I only become angry when I see innocent people being hurt because another assumes that their way has to be right for everyone. It's as though we haven't learned anything since people were burnt at the stake for their assumptions. Blessings.

I think I am always tolerant because of the kind of religion I have, its expected that people are gonna say something about it. I was also a missionary of our church and there were so many people who tried to do a lot of bad things to us but I know we were protected by God that nothing's going to happen to us. With the kind of experience I have, I learned how to be more patient and how to be tolerant.

Hi keep_onwatch, to me faith is related to me and to the god, its purely concerned with myself. I will never compare with anyone, if any one criticize about it i just keep quite and i never try to argue with them, coz i myself doesn't know fully about god, i only believe god is a god, whatever the name you will call him he will answer you. One will have so many names in the house, then why can't god has whom we all love him. I never encourage people to differentiate god (your god and my god) that is ridiculous i feel. Real human being will see the god with the faith not with the religion.

Todays world everyone has or got a religion but are they following it religiously ?Is there any religion which tought humilate other religions?
As for as i know there is not even a single religion which preaches humilate other religions.if we see the prophets of the religions they never got angry or overreact to those who humiliated them and their call.infact they have asked mercy from god and pardon those who tried to harm. Therefore it is the responisiblty of each and eveyone to know and gain knowledge of the religion they are following and not to just blindly follow the religious heads.
As there is only one god and all the prophets came with the same message to worship only god.
