Yoga and meditation

More and more are everyday Scientific studies that come to confirm that increasing interesting about the two East techniques, meditation and yoga, which have multiple benefits in mental, psychic and physical level.
What's your opinion about meditation and yoga ? Have you seen changes in your life since you started practicing yoga?

Hi, manousina. I am from India, a place where Yoga originated. I have seen real big benefits of yoga and meditation. Until two years ago, I practiced Yoga and Meditation regularly. It has made my body quite flexible but strong; I am one of the fittest persons in my company. Being a computer engineering student, I spend nearly 80 % of my time on my laptop, I still do not have a hint of a problem with my eyesight. Also, I suffered from regular cold and cough for around two years, I completed many medical prescriptions but without much impact. After that, with yoga, especially its breathing exercises, I was able to extirpate the problem from its root.
Now, due to lack of time, I can not do Yoga exercises. But, I still find some time for breathing exercises and some meditation. That is quite relaxing and helps in retaining focus.

I dont know about the "psychic" level..for some (such as myself) then yes it does beneifit that aspect of my life but certainly not for all who practice meditation and yoga....That said...I have found a tremendous change in my life mentally, emotionally and physically when I practice both regularly...I also firmly believe that my regular yoga practice when I was a child helped a huge amount when it came to me suviving and getting through the abuse I endured back then..

Hi,
I agree with you.Now a days,many people are being interesting in meditation and yoga for better living.With the help of meditation,we can reduce our stress and can improve our concentration.With yoga we can relax our body.Both the methods have no side effect at all.

I only practice meditation. It takes away almost all the stress i've accumulated after the day. Before, i used to prepare my meal messy cuz of the stress. I can't think straight anymore all the while tired. But after days of meditation, i can focus on one thing at a time. I can collect my attention and concentrate it to a task.
