Yes siliguri, what mom says it good, it is good for your health, while doing exercise the intake of oxygen will be more which our body requires. Once you try then it will make you to do daily, because if you start doing exercise in a particular time automatically our mind reminds us. Thanks for your response. Have a great day.

I used to do frequent exercise and cycling, but now-a-days, I'm being weighed down by a few anxieties and am not exercising regularly.

Jotomy I do need to lose a lot of weight as I am a diabetic but because of a bad leg cannot walk far so I really need some ideas of something I could do in my room that would rev up my system and use up oxygen.I have a set of five pound weights also a heavy rubber exercise tubing with handles that I can do some exercises with. because of a shoulder joint replacement in my left shoulder I cannot raise my left arm up very high but I need some exercise ideas. cannot swim here as they have no pool.
what can I do to burn up calories and rev up my metabolism? I am 83 and my heart is in perfect shape.my body is obese and I need to exercise thirty minutes at least four days a week.help.

Hi Hatley, i am sorry to hear that you have diabetic and you have a bad leg. You can also do some exercises sitting in the home, yoga will help you a lot. But doing yoga you must have a good teacher. Once you practice for 15 days then you can do on your own. There are good asanas which can protect your pancreas, liver and intestines. This will help you to keep your mind and body under your control.
Till you get a good teacher, you can practice breathing exercise. Do like this :
Hold your right nostril and shut with the edge of your right thumb. Inhale through the left nostril counting form 1 to 10. Then hold your left nostril also with the index finger and hold your breath for a further count of ten. Release the thumb from the right nostril and exhale to a count of 20, keeping your index finger on the left nostril. Then start inhaling again through the right nostril, revering the sequence. This completes one round. Increase the rounds according to your capacity. Maintain the ratio of inhalation and exhalation time as 1:2. You can gradually increase if you can. There are video also you can get it. But my suggestion is you should have a teacher first. Along with this you should have a good diet which only suits you. I will tell you a simple excercise here, just lay down keep your leg and hands free, then keep your legs up slowly and down. Do it for 5 times a day then 10 like that you can increase. With this you will not have constipation thus you will be free from a little bit with diabetic also. When you keep your legs up the pressure will be on your stomach as well as on pancreas. Do it slowly should not be hurry for anything, if you are feeling uneasy then just stop for a while and start it again. you can take help of wall or take a chair besides you hold it and do. Have a nice day.

My husband and I have a variety of exercise choices! We sometimes visit the gym. Other nights if we don't feel like spending time at the gym we might do an exercise video at home. We love to walk but unfortunately with where we live right now we can't walk - it's not safe (highway.) But once we move we can't wait to start walking in the evenings again!
Oh and I also have weights and a stability ball that I use to do crunches.
I love having lots of options. It keeps things exciting and new!

i think this is not possible for me at all. I tried many times to go to gym regularly but i failed each time due to some reason. Reason could be related to my work or some time even my laziness.
Now i think i will go once again but i am not sure whether i will be regular or not.

Yes, I try and exercise at least every day. If not, every other day. If nothing else, if there is a floor around somewhere and enough space for me to lie down, I can do some sit ups. It might not be much, but at least it is better than nothing. At least that is the way that I see things. Doing something will help keep me a bit active.
A lot of the time, especially this time of the year, I go walking. Most of the time, this serves a multitude of purposes. Obviously exercise is the top of the list. Also it allows me to get some fresh air and some time to think as well. So yes, I try and exercise every day, walking mostly but other things. I do as much as I can with time permitting but at the same time, I undertake some kind of token effort.

Hi common_man, it is good to do YOGA in the early morning. And Pranayam will help you to take more oxygen. This breathing exercise is good for lungs, heart and relaxing the body as well. Aasanas will control your mind and body. Yeah evening walk also beneficial. Thanks for your nice response. Have a wonderful day.

I do bending regularly at least 100 times, to ensure my stomach or abs stay firm.
I hate to see my stomach is out when I wear pants or skirts.
