I already have a guitar. I have been trying to get lessons but the place my friend goes to is too expensive! Where do you think is a good place to go get them... or is there a person who can go to your house and teach you there. What is a good price to pay for a lesson and for what amount of time?

Guitar is something which can not be teach by someone. I also play guitar but do you belive it that I learn guitar totally by my self. As I am from guwahati, India. In our place there is a book company of GBD(Great Book Distributor) Pvt. They publish a book call "Mastering Chord". One of my friend told me about that book and I buy that book. The book contains many a chords details in diagram and learn those chord from the book. At that time I did't know how to play lead. I knew but that well and later on I gave imporatance in lead playing and now I can play many a song. There is also a application call Guitar Pro. You can download it from any P2P software for also you can buy that software from any retailer and after installing that software in your system you can be a expert in Guitar. Its true.

You could teach yourself to play guitars. Start with the basics. Learn a few simple chords, pick a song that you really like and check if the chords are easy and start strumming. That should work out for a beginner. But if you already know the basics and are looking for advance lessons, there are always online materials that you can get access to. Some guitar tabs or instructional videos or even a Pro-guitar book from your nearest music store. As long as you've got the knack for it, those things would help you improve your guitar skills. And then there's the alternative of hiring someone to teach you for a price. But I suggest just ripping off what your friend learned from his lessons. =)

I would suggest a website that might be of some help. It is www.learnandmaster.com. They have series of, for instance, guitar, piano and a couple of other things. I found it when I was getting back into piano. I've never been able to find a good teacher, or one that would help me, so I have relied on a lot of tutorials. When you buy their lessons, you get dvd's, cd's, and a workbook. This way, if you have a question on something you can go back and review. And you can go at your own pace. I hope this helps.
