How is the best way to ask a rich person to invest in your dream?

I would like to start my own business and I have no money and very little equity. My dream is to start a cake shop, or little bakery in my town. There is a great opportunity here as there is no other bakery but a grocery store. I need investors because I know the bank won't help.
Any ideas as to how I would ask a few people I know that are very well-off and successful?

Be his very best friend. Oftentimes, people are skeptical when we introduce something to them which needs some kind of investment. That's because nowadays, people can't be trusted, especially with money matters. Now, I am not asking you to pretend to be his friend. Be a genuine one, and try to understand him and let him understand you too. When the relationship has been established, it will be easier to talk things out.

Ok...But how should I approach the subject and what stradigy could I use?
