To any users of the Internet Service provider which is the Smart Broad band, what do you think about their services? Are you satisfied with the internet connection that they provide?
As the one responsible for starting this discussion, I will give my answers.
I think that their services is fast when the collection of bills or monthly payment are the once involve. However, when technical problems are encountered it could take several weeks before their technical staff are going to come and fix the problem.
Regarding about the speed, it is not constant or steady. Sometimes it's good but there are also times when it's extremely slow. I don't know the problem but shouldn't it be their job to provide better services for their customers?

Please take note that in terms of performance, a broadband is way different from a cable connection. broadbands alsways depends on signal, while a fix cable connection has a steady connection stream. In terms of service, top companies would of course experience some delays since they have lots of customers to serve or cater to compared to those stating ones like Sun. But with our Smart Bro here. It seems its working well.

I'm planning to shift to a DSL connection its because of what you just mentioned here that it provides a continuous or steady stream of connection. However, the problem about it is the connection that requires some long cable connection because the location of my place is far from the city.

I happened to meed people working from the PLDT along my way home and I asked them to check my place if it is applicable to be connected with a DSL internet cable connection. They came with me and visited my place and they said it is possible which makes me happy but I have to pay a huge amount for the cable lines which I can no longer afford. So I think that I will stay on a Samrt Bro connection for awhile.

Try searching for local ISPs or Internet Service Providers in your area, there might be some. Oftentimes, telephone providers also have internet packages, specially if your just nearby Manila. Examples like Digitel, etc. Otherwise you may try Smart bro (not the usb but the antenna receiver type)

Hmm. I think every internet connection has a problem or it depends on the place where you are. My cousin is using Smart Broad Band Internet but she is currently not having problems with the connection, she has very fast connection. I think it just depends on your location and the computer you are using. As I said, that i think every internet connection has problem, because I am currently using Globe but it is so slow, and the speed of the internet connection is fluctuating. Though they respond right away to technical problems.

I see it makes to difference with the Smart Broadband connection and I guess that you are right about it. I also do have a friend who is currently subscribe with a Smart Broad Band connection and they are lucky enough to be close at the main transmitter antenna. He usually claims that his connections can be compared with that of the DSL providers.

They say that there is an internet provider which can never be affected by either a bad weather or being located on a remote places. It is the satellite internet connection but I think that we don't have such technology yet here in the Philippines and perhaps it might soon be able after a few more years to come.

Well I guess there some kind of a problem with every utility service provider. Even at Globe that seems to be the problem I encounter as well. But for now I think Globe is providing be good in terms of internet connection. I am not that demanding when it comes to my browsing needs. Just provide a continuous stream of internet speed I would usually not complain anymore.

It seems that you only use your internet connection for browsing or searches but the majority of internet users need the best possible services to suit their needs. This involves downloading movies, playing online games and anything else that requires excessive amount of internet connection speed.
I had to agree with you that Globe is now becoming more popular since many claim that they do have better connection speed.

I am not saying they are good in terms of Customer service as well. I have had a bad experience with their CS as well so I would not recommend that you switch in any case. I am just saying that almost all IS providers have their own flaws in their customer service even PLDT is not immune to this being one of the oldest in the business.

Mentioning the word PLDT reminds me about the old dial-up connection. I still remember having the hard time to buy the scratch-able card to continue using their internet services. Anyway, customer services should know their part of the job and I just wonder who else can we rely besides them. I really do want to complain but I guess that a customer's right has a limitation.

I am using Bayantel DSL and its really works very fine with me. I only have problem with the connection when we experienced storm that's the time that I was keep on disconnected in the line. But when the weather is fine everything else is ok.
I heard it with my friend who is using the Smart Broand Band she keeps on disconnecting in the line, and she called the CS about it. She was only told that there is a problem with the signal. She is getting less service but the payment is still the same. I keep on encouraging her to ask for any compensation or at least freebies for the inconvenient that she keeps on experiencing. But they keep on denying and not admiting that its their fault. They always blame the signal.

Bayantel also has a DSL? I thought that the PLDT is only the DSL provider here in our country. Anyway, it's best for them to have some competition to make them work as to whom will be the best company that offers the best services. As for your sister, if it keeps on disconnecting it is probably due to the antenna not being fixed well on its stand.

For me smart broadband is fast because in one of my workplace this is what we are using. so far it did not fail us especially during our product search. what i am using at home is smart bro prepaid and i am satisfied with the fast connection. but some of my colleagues said that the fast access to the net is dependent to the location. maybe that is why some people encounter slow connection. i understand what you are going through because we are paying them for their services so they should give us what is due to us. here in davao, smart bro technical staff is fast in returning to our complaints then they fix it immediately. keep up the good work :)

Davao is a very nice place and it consist of many beautiful places to visit and I'm glad that smart broadband are well fixed in your place. I think that the problems doesn't only lies on the location but it also depends on the workers or maintenance of that services. Its really nice to know that the technical staff of smart bro on your location does their job well to serve their customers.

my friend uses smart bro and she really is not satisfied with its service.
worse, she is an online tutor and sometimes need to cancel her classes because of smart's slow and bad connection.
i use PLDT DSL and it is good. the company i am working in also recommends it to their employees.

PLDT DSL is what I think the best among other wireless internet service provider. Although I really haven't tried the connection my self but there are too many claims that it's the best and the fastest. However, you have to pay for the cable for connection and I guess the bill will cost you more.

I heard that the PLDT company has a new offer for internet connection services and I wanted to know about what type you are subscribe into. But please don't tell me its the Dial-Up because I came from that type of services a long time ago and I am not satisfied.

I am not yet aware about Bayantel's internet connection services but it seems that you really are very satisfied with their services. Anyway, I think that Bayantel only covers a certain area here on the Philippines since they do not have any company or office yet here in my place.

Well,i think it also depends upon the area.
Since my place is a smart wifi zone,i don't have much problem regarding the connection.
And yes,it is true that,Smart provider were fast when it comes to giving bills, but,i am satisfied with their service.
Globe is not as fast as Smart here in our place,so,everyone in the neighborhood were using Smart broadband.
Have a good day always

I could really see now the difference between Globe and Smart Broadband basing on your experience. Well it really makes no difference and it depends on your location. I think it's because they use wireless transmitter where the further you are from their transmitter antenna means you slower your connection will be.

i used smart broadband before i transfer to my sister place and the connection is fast and i dont have any problem witht hem, like even if i failed to pay two months i still have my connection and they will call me to inform me that they will disconnect my connection if i still did not pay it for a given time. in terms of technical support, usually they said they will come for 3 days up to 1 week it depends o the availability of the people but normally they will come just 2 days after i called. i like smart. maybe you just have to call them to make it quick. all internet provider have slow connection sometimes and not just smart.

I also encountered the same problem that you mentioned here. I failed to pay my last previous monthly bill where they called me on my mobile phone stating that I have to pay or disconnection follows. Regarding about the technical problems, they will sometimes give you a number to call that no one bothers to answer.

I am currently using Smart Broadband, the one with an antenna known as the Canopy. When I'm downloading a certain file that takes a of time, I notice that the connection usually does fluctuates. Since you are now a globe user, I just want to confirm if the same thing happens with the Globe.
