Youngsters are called the future of the nation but, at present the future of everything on earth depends on them. I am college student just doing my second year and the activities i see of my friends are really so hurting and i often wonder if they will really will turn out to be good EARTHLINGS, eco-friendly and environment caring.
Water, is a most wanted and scarce resource in most of the places of the world. People die due to scarcity of water every day in many different places. Even after having knowledge about all these problems and need for water my so called friends doing their ENGINEERING waste so much of water and here is how,
- Open the tap at the faucet and leave the water running at full speed while brushing their teeth.
- Leave the water overflowing from the buckets while having a bath, being lazy to turn off the tap
- Leave the taps running strings of water after having a face wash without having a little thought to close it completely
Most of the times I go near the bathroom I turn off the taps myself sometimes even the toilet taps are left running and it does feel embarrassing to turn off those taps but thinking about the wastage, embarrassment does not look too big.
And I have spoke about this to deaf ears :(
Next electricity,
- the geyser runs the whole night for a guy to have a hot water bath the next morning.
He would rather just wake up at 5 O'Clock and switch it on rather than put it up 8hours. Half the water in the container is vapour by morning, just how hot the water gets...
And lots more but I just wanted to talk about these two most wanted resources which are being wated like they are available in plenty :/

hiApart from water,electricity..we are in danger with Global warming,it is the duty of elders to give pollution free environment to the FUTURE GENERATIONS.
We are running nearer to the reducing petrolium reserves....what next, that too pollution free alternative energy..think of biodiesel, may be from algae,vegetables,palm,pongamia..JATROPHA..

Reduce using plastic ...massive pantation..reduce industrial gases...if we effectively follow,we can reduce pollution.

You have given quite a lot of information in a short way... I should do learn to reduce my text as well. I guess I will learn to do as get along with mylot friends like you friends.
Yes, there are other depleting resources as well but I was talking about water in first place because life without it is not possible and secondly most of everything in these days are turning out to work on electricity, even automobiles so it will be next to water. Agricultural lands will come on top of these all, now most agricultural lands are sold by farmers in need of money and bought by business people or institutions and you know then, buildings come up and the agriculture is gone poof.
Talking about petroleum.. I think it will be better off if it dries out soon... I believe it is one of the major causes for GLOBAL WARMING :(
Bio-fuels may have a good future but they involve agriculture as well... tight existence if people are going to fight to keep builindings. But I saw the huge benefits in using bio-fuels from the site you have mentioned and only after reading that I wished tomorrows headlines would be 'Earth Runs out of Petroleum Fuels... What next?' then there would surely be bio-diesel providers all over the place :)
Only hope the prices don;t reach the skies in the name of 'demand' ;)

Hi friend, thank you for your interest. to be specific, my point here is that if the planet keeps on with the present generation then there will be a continuous decay.

If the future of the nation depends on this "generation", I could see a continuous decay coming..

Hi friend, thank you for putting my thought in a simple line. That is exactly what I wanted to convey 'Continuous decay'. There are really very few youngsters in this world who have genuine interest in earth and the living things depending on her. I find myself upset at least for 30minutes a day seeing in-human activities by the youngsters... and me myself an being an youngster am not able to say much to them to stop... they just walk away criticizing :/

Hi friend, I agree with you on the last part... that is insane, most youngsters do these only for showing off. A friend of mine smokes and drinks and if he is adviced to stop he says it is what a teenager should do, foolish troll(he is a massive guy).
But forget about them... atleast they can save the planet for the better of the future generation... they(future generation) need a place to stay and it is our responsibility to make sure they have a CLEAN,HYGIENIC and ECO-FRIENDLY environment to lead their life in.

Hi friend, sweet of you to call me pessimistic(nothing harsh ), Thank you.
I'm sorry i haven't mentioned about friends of mine who do support my thoughts but yes maybe the lines of mine in the above do seem a little pessimistic friend. I'll see to that I mention something positive I see as well.
But it is true, most of the youngsters are show offs these days and do silly things thinking that is what brings name for them among other people.
Think about it, a guy leaves the tap open. You go close it and also tell him that he should close the tap after he has finished with the faucet and he gives a smashing reply saying, "what are you doing saving college water/electricity? Let them pay the bill... we pay the fees la" It is so dumb of them and so pity to see guys so narrow minded and blind to the fact that wasting is not a big loss for the institution alone but for himself and the Life bearing mother Earth, who most of us humans are slowly destroying.
And as you say... I am and will always be a member of that little group :)
I take you to be one among the group as well, friend :)

Unfortunately no one is spending time getting it through the younger generations head just how necessary conservation is. Short of the Legislature passing laws requiring conservation no one, least of all the young is going to take the matter seriously. Hopefully one day someone as conscientious as yourself will come up with some way to cope with all of the shortages we as a planet are soon to be facing in a big way.

Future of the nation, eh? I'll tell you one thing. Generations are regressing as they appear where I live. Years ago, children were being directed by their parents ever since they were able to comprehend situations. The earlier, the better, because children are know to understand faster than adults. Also, schools had hours in which teachers would talk about life, not some course that kids would later find utterly useless. Nowadays, however, the story is different. Parents are too busy with work, thinking that the more money they make, the better their family will be in the end, not thinking that the kids home education they don't provide hurts not only the kid, but the entire world as it's a mass event. Every neglected kid adds up to form hundreds of thousands, if not millions of kids which go through life not knowing how dire the consequence of each of their action can get at some point in the future. And in schools, those "life lessons" have turned into lessons in which kids are either left to do as they please, or urged to study for the most important exam they have next, and what not. All these accumulated create, as I said before, a destructive mass toward the community, and in the end, toward the planet itself. The ONLY thing we can do to better this is to NOT neglect our little ones education concerning life.
Water and electricity? Water is only scarce in some places of the world, unless I'm not correctly informed, and the problem can be solved if those engineers think about ways to do so, not contribute to the opposite. As for energy, I believe it's only a matter of time until it becomes infinite. People will, at some point understand that there are ways of gathering energy without polluting the environment around them, and at that point this problem will also be solved. Until then, however, I wish us all the best of luck in survival... we WILL need it.

i dont think there is any problem in the statement.its a very clear fact ..youngsters are the future of nation.what else does a nation have to bank upon finally, older machines perform with less efficiency, too young machines are not properly trained to work.so its finally youngsters nly,who r bubbling wid energy.
it can be agreed upon that, youngsters actually are not so much concerned, they are actually more indisciplined, but thats a fact,..when else will you do such things.I dot think we should be much concerned about the ways there living or habits.what is more important is whether or not they are getting proper direction.

I had thoughts of the same as well friend but you cannot live life as you want always... you have to restrict somethings and skip them from life for a bigger benefit or I should say for a better GOOD. Even I used to complain loads to my father asking 'when else will I do if I don't do it know? At your age?'. My father used to say that only 'time can teach people like me' and so has it... But even in those times I never used to be resource-wasting child. I was just lazy, playful and spending most of my time sitting on the chair at my computer :)
And if you are going to call wasting precious scarce resources and acting dumb to nature and earth is something not be concerned then there is actually no proper direction given....
