traveling during night is the best thing, not only by train by any means you can. The cool air, peacefull people-less atmosphere, i will be so enjoying the hour unless one enemy (in the current scenario) comes and knocks the door, that is 'sleepiness'!

Well.yeah.Everyone just like the peace of mind and the night gives the chance. What others will do what I have no idea. I will enjoy the peace and listen to the cool music I have,so simple.Do you hold that?Haha!

It seems you are very much impressed with the character or GEET from JAB WE MET. Honestly saying, I think all of us like to travel by train,I do like it very much. But these days, time is very less, due to this crises I have to choose to Fly. But When ever I get chance to travel by train, I never let that go away. I sincerely miss, the Home made meal boxes, the Air Pillow, the immediate friendship with the passenger to your next sit, the songs by the kids with two flat stones in hands, the Channa Dal, the settings with the TC for sit. etc etc etc

I have traveled on plenty of train to different places. In the night time I like it when I can sleep in a comfortable bunk in a compartment. On an inter rail ticket I traveled around Europe. I enjoyed sleeping in a six bunk sleeper. In Turkey I liked sleeping in a four bunk sleeper. When I was in Kenya I traveled in a two bunk sleeper. At breakfast time the next morning I saw a giraffe. Wow! One night I was on a train overnight and we didn't know if we had to change to go to Prague. Well if we hadn't got off we would have arrived in Vienna. In the day time I like chatting to the other passengers and I enjoy looking at the view out of the window. Going by train is my favorite way to travel.

I don't like night travelling on a train cuz there are many robbers and holduppers here. The probability of getting in trouble here is pretty high at night. I'd rather go home early if it allows me.

Sounds interesting and romantic. I might try it one day. Not in Indonesia though, as the trains here are mostly in bad shapes and no clean. Well, of course we have business class trains, but it goes between big cities only. Well, I am imagining a night ride on a train in Japan or Korea would be nice.

I love to take the overnight train, but I need to have a private compartment. A couple of times while traveling through Europe, our compartment lost heat ... that's not fun when it's freezing outside. Several times while traveling without a private compartment we were kept up most of the night with people making all kinds of noise. They were just partying and having a good time, which was fun for the but not for those of us who needed to get some rest. Also, without a bed to lie down in, there's no way I can get a decent night's sleep. With a private compartment, you can still go to the common areas and visit, but you have an escape when you want privacy or quiet. I took the overnight train in Vietnam once and it was very dirty, that wasn't pleasant. I think the best part of the overnight train is being able to arrive at your destination in the morning and you're ready to go.

I like to do it too, here in London we usually do it among friends when we leave the campus or leave work late so we take the night metro to go back, it is fun with friends though.

i havent ridden on a train for long travels, and the closest i've come to riding on trains is using the tube. yes, sometimes i find it weirdly relaxing to just sit and your mind drifts off.

I never experience it, but I think traveling at night in a train could be a good idea, but if you want to see the great nature while traveling well I think traveling in day time will be the best.

I've honestly never traveled on a train. I've rode the metrorail before but never on a legitimate train to take a trip. I do love traveling by airplane at night though. I've only gotten the opportunity to take a night flight once though which is a shame because I really enjoyed the one I did. I imagine I would enjoy traveling by train at night just as much though since I enjoyed the night flight.
