Do you keep tabs on your earnings?

I have a book where I write the date & site that I have requested payout from...this way if it's later than what the admin has said it would be, I can contact them to see if they have a back log to process, etc. This way I can keep an eye on who does pay & who doesn't. I have ben earning online for many years but have only been doing this since the beginning of March this year.
I also have a notebook where I keep track of my daily earnings from all the sites I'm a member of that way I can keep track of how long it's taking me to reach payout & how many referrals I have. I also write in this book my referral links so if someone asks for a referral link, I don't have to waste time going to that site just to get the link for them.
How do you keep track of your earnings?

I have been earning online for 10 years. And I keep extremely good books as the tax man always wants his share. For most sites you need to give tax information if you make $600 or more a year from them. And others like hits4pay asks for your tax information before they pay you for the first time. You should take your book keeping as serious as you take your online earnings.

This is true but I have never heard of anyone (well here in Australia anyway) declaring their online earnings as there are also alot of sites that don't ask for your tax info too...I agree that it's great to do book keeping on your online earnings as I guess you never know when the tax man will want to audit you.

You can find this in most tos of programs. Taxes are the responsibility of the individual. I suppose that they won't hunt you down for for a few bucks here and a few bucks there...But if you are a serious online earner like myself and others you will find yourself filling out the forms....think about this...the company is going to say they paid you...all your payment processors have records of your earnings and where they came from...so I have found it best just to be honest.

This is very true...I agree...I guess Australia is a bit more lenient as the firt $6000pa we earn is tax free....I'd like to know what type of sites you earn on as I want to try & earn more online.

I have an dry-erase board that I write down what payouts requested or ones that will be clearing into my account and can be requested. I probably should keep a log so that I can track it better. I have been really busy online this month and have a lot of requests out there, some have paid-and when they do-I erase it.

That is another great way of keeping track of your payouts...that way you know which ones are taking the longest too.

I keep track of my earnings by going to the site each day. I don't physically write my earnings down though. I like the idea of writing down the referral links- that would save me a bunch of time from opening another browser, copying the link, and going back to paste the link in the original site.
I'm also in the process of copying down my referrals contact info...just in case my computer goes poof... I should probably also copy down the address to the sites, with my sign-in, and passwords too.
Hmmm, this thread has given me something to think about

I have found that I don't have the time to go to all my sites daily - this i why I have decided to keep a log of what I do.
I am glad I have given you something to think about

Yes of course. I like to keep track of my monthly earnings so I'll know if I am doing enough for my anticipated expenditures. I also have a planner where I write the daily work I make just in case my computer bogs down -- you know, sort of a back-up. At any rate, it is really better if you know that your efforts are enough and if you are making sufficient income.

This is very true...I also like seeing it on paper as I get to see the results & how long it's taking me.

This is another good idea - that way you know how to plan your budget for anything that may come unexpected or for an extra treat.

This is a good idea! Since I am new to making money online, what I have is a notebook where I take note of the legit/ scam sites, my Unames and pass, and other pertinent infos. For sure I will keep track of my earnings soon when I reach payout. Thanks for the idea.

That's another good idea...I have never written down the sites I got scammed by but I do know a name of a few of them.

I use a notebook with lines drawn for each day and a list of programs on the side. Each day I mark the total, then when I cash out, I mark it with a "C/O" and any remaining balance. Each section is dated a week at a time, so I can see when I cashed out as well as how fast any particular program accumulates money. It also helps me make sure I remember to do each one every day because I mark them as I go.

That's another good way - I was doing something similar to you but then decided to go with the way I have now in my note book, I have a page per site where I mark down my earnings each time I go to that site & I have a separate book for my cash out requests.

It seems interesting that you do this. I am considering this as something to do as well but I think I might do it on an excel document. Then for the referrals part I can input how much they have actually earned.I also need to do this for tax purposes and can help my mom with the taxes by knowing how much I earned and for what.

I keep track on my earnings through my email address, I usually make a copy of it and save in my email

That's another good idea to do too...some of the sites I'm a member of actually send you a confirmation email which I keep in my inbox until I get my payment & then I delete it.

That's a good way too because then you can see how much you have earned at a particular site each month.

Lately I have been joining some new sites to try and increase my earnings. I confess I haven't started a record-keeping method for them yet. I do have a book that I began recently where I record passwords, email addresses used, etc.
I am going to have to get a larger book for record keeping very soon. It will be a long time before I make a sizable amount of $ I know. Nevertheless, it is good to have all that information for your own records so you can tell if the site is worth the time and effort you are putting into it.

That's why I started keeping records of my online earnings...not only so I know which sites are worth staying with but so I know when I reach payout, etc...I also write my referral links down too so I can easily refer to that when someone asks for my referral link or I join a free traffic exchange site.

i don't write them but just check them everyday if there's a change on my earnings. keeping tabs is important as to know which one you will prioritize.

I agree that keeping tabs is important - that way we also know when we reach payout on a site too.
