Ok, I'm in my early 30's & still get the odd pimples, zits, whatever you want to call them...I have been told by a few people that I know that this product is great & does give really clear skin...I have also been told by one person that it doesn't work at all & of course I have seen the horror stories on tv of those who are allergic to benzoyl peroxide...
Have you used the product? Is it worth paying the high price for it?

No, not me. Since I stopped eating oily cooked foods and gave up drinking for a more natural lifestyle, my skin has been really good, so there has been no need for me to buy those products. Not that I ever did anyway, I just put up with the pimples beforehand.
There is a banner link on my profile page to a friend of mine in Brisbane who has healed herself of Acne naturally through diet and by removing chemicals from her life. It is the 6th one from the top. Check it out. I have seen the pictures of how bad her pimples were before and she has improved massively. An amazing turnaround!

I had a look at the banner link & you can definitely see the difference in her skin!! I am thinking seriously about getting her book...I know I should change my diet & eat healthily - I do most of the time but my problem is not drinking enough water - I'm a sucker for cordial only so I can drink something with flavour

She is a healthy looking person in real life too.
I used to be like that with cordial as well. I used to take 2 litres of it to work each day and I hated having to drink water if I ran out on hot days, so I would take 4 litres on those days and would always have a bottle revolving in the work fridge.
I have not had cordial or soft drinks like coke now for at least 3 years. These days I only drink water or a herbal tea with honey in winter for warmth. I also cut out fast food and meat and dairy and feel a lot better overall.
It has been a gradual process for me and one that I could not have done without the help of my wife, friends, books, DVD's and reading online. I grew up hating vegetables and fruit. I never ate them, but these days I live on these 90% of the time.

i didnt use it but my brother did. he had really bad facial skin and proactiv worked wonders on him! i'm no way connected to proactiv ok, and i'm just sharing my brother's experience. even after he stopped using it his skin was waaay better than before. i remember those days when all of us agonized over his skin, because he is good looking but was dotted with pimples and all. i think proactive paved the way for his skin to clear out and maybe did something even more because like what is aid, even after he stopped using it, his skin continued to be in good condition.

I'm in my early 30's too and my skin still breaks out especially when I'm about to have my period. I'm curious about using Proactiv but it's somewhat expensive. It is also true that some people are allergic to benzoyl peroxide. It is more advisable to have your skin checked by a dermatologist instead of experimenting on over the counter treatments. Also, you could be having the pimples because of hormonal imbalance. An endocrinologist can also help.

This is true but an endocrunologist would be more expensive wouldn't it? I'm glad I'm not the only one my age that still breaks out at that time of the month :p

Hi moonchild1au! I haven't used proactive since I seldom get pimples, but my best friend did used this product. She was first very hesitant to use the product because we really don't know if the product do work on Asian skin. She has acne all over her face and some on her back. Doctors advice her to use a product containing benzoyl peroxide but unfortunately she was allergic to it. The results were visible after 3 weeks of use. Then after 2 months, her acne was all gone, though scars remain from her acne prickling before. At first I thought that it was impossible to cure her acne without surgery, but it really does work for her. I think you should give it a try too, but just remember that this product still couldn't work for all people. Goodluck and Happy mylotting!
