do you care if others can hear your music?

When I'm on public transport, I can always hear other people listening to their music on their phones or ipods. It sometimes annoys me if it is the kind of music that I don't really like. However, I get very self conscious when people can hear my music. I have a slight deafness in one ear which means that my music often has to be louder than most peoples.. but when I listen to it in the car my younger brother always hums along to whatever I'm listening to. I hate people being able to hear my music, and I know that he only does it to annoy me.. But it makes me wonder, why would people in public play theirs so loud?

I don't care if someone hears my music. I always play my music loud. I know everyone around me can hear it but i don't give a sh!T. I enjoy playing loud and that's all that matters. Of course if someone asks me to turn it down then i'll turn it down. :)

Hey Gemma! I sometimes get annoyed when I'm on the bus and I hear other peoples music that is very loud too especially if it is something that I don't like either! I also like to listen to my music very loud so I wonder if they can hear my music too! But, compared to the music I really hate to hear people talking on their cell phones! To me that is the ultimate annoyance and rudeness! I don't understand why anyone needs to talk about nonsense on a public bus for an entire bus ride! It I get a call I make it short because I don't want the entire busload of people listening to my business!

I totally agree with you about how annoying it is when people are chatting on their cell phones around you. I mean, especially with people who have bluetooth headsets. A lot of the time I can't see it and assume they're talking to me! I had one instance where the person said 'hello' and 'how are you' and I replied, unknowing they were on the phone. I agree! I'm also weary about talking on the phone in public because I feel like everyone has their ears focused on my conversation. How awkward!

in public, yes.i try not to be obnoxious about it.but i have to turn it up for the same reason you do. at home,no.you really can't hear it outside of my house no matter how loud i have it.

I believe that the way we use to talk about their loud music they must be talking about our loud music too, if one has started the trend then the others will be doing it too. I have to put mine loader too to be able to listen what I want to instead of my friend's music.

I I've got no problems with anyone else hearing my music. I tend to listen while wearing ear phones though. If it's too loud, and someone asks me to turn it down a bit, I'll do it. I don't get why some people drive around in their cars, turn up the stereo so loud that you can only hear the base from their weak speakers. It sounds like the car is about to fall apart.

I like your answer. I like my music loud too, but if someone asks me to turn it down, I will, no questions asked and without an attitude. I fully understand that my music might not be pleasant to another person's ears. I like to blast my music loud, but not so loud that all you can hear outside my lowered windows is the bass. I hate when people do that. I'm not sure what the point of doing that is, the music inside the car doesn't sound any better cranked up that loud.

i get irritated when people play their music so loud. i mean not everyone wants to hear your music. if they're using their earphones or headsets and i still hear it? oh my, then that person probably has a hearing problem or will have one soon.

I don't know why people do this GemmaR, but it is very annoying. My neighbor's son who now is at college but will be home soon for summer break, will blast his music for all to hear..I hate it, and I just know he has to go through speakers as loud as he plays his music, but they have enough money to not worry about it, so he probably just replaces the speakers when they go..

Helo, I know it really annoys me when I can just over hear other peoples music when I am sitting on a bus or a train. Because of this I try to be considerate to others when I have my headphones in, listening to my music. Not everyone has the same taste in music ie. pop, rock, classical, soul etc, so I think it is only good manners not to annoy other public transport users. Have a sound day..

it depends. there are times that i play my music low and sometimes i play my music loud. if i am in a bus or train and some people there are giggling or making disturbing noises then i will turn my music loud, but if everything is smooth then i will play my music nice and low. i listen to all kinds of genre so i guess there are more people who will like my choices. the best i love is the earth wind and fire's songs.

no i don't care who is listening to my music and i will never care about. Ofcourse if it is some kind of place where i have to maintain some decency i will definately keep it to myself and its not that i delibrately listen put up the volume to a level so that everybody can listen me, its just that in some kind of music you just have to pump up the volume.

i have one part of my life that has on the same situation that you have one right there. what i did was, i turned my cellphone on and switched it to radio mode, and of course i've maximized the volume also, it was like we are competing, i have with my classmate at that time and sent him a message on his phone to act like he's angry with me that if i did not turned my radio off, he will throw my phone~ and the plan was a success! the emo-girl who started the scene was now too shy to louden her music and started to grab her earphones. our acting was a success.. some people just want to share and express their feelings that is why they do that, especially on this generation.. some people mostly teens nowadays just want to show off their gadget just to tell everyone that they have one~ and i hate people like them too, like they do not have a respect on other people....
